Luyando Foundation Girls this afternoon shot to the summit of the 2021/22 FAZ Women’s League Lusaka Province Table with 10 points after they edged Football Chance Foundation Girls 2-0 in a match week 4 played at Natural Resources Development College Ground (NRDC).
A goal in each half from Tefeoga Victoria Munene and Ellesy Chilandula was enough for Luyando to claim maximum points with a 2-0 scoreline and maintain their unbeaten run in the league.
On the other hand, it was the first defeat of the season for Football Chance who still has a game in hand against Kafue Celtic, unfortunately, in today’s game, they were not clinical in front of goal missing some chances including Barbara Chewe’s thunderbolt free-kick which ricocheted off the crossbar in the second half of the match.
At Olympia Secondary School Ground, Second-placed ZANACO Ladies fought hard to beat Mapani Queens as Stella Kapotwe’s goal from a freekick was all the Bankers needed to collect maximum points with a 1-0 victory over the resolute Mapani to move to 9 points with a game in hand against Red Lions.
In Mtendere, Young YASA were handed a painful 1-0 home defeat by Misisi Queens United who found the back of the net through 9-year old Christine Mwale in the 21st minute and that was the difference between these two sides in a match that was witnessed by FAZ Lusaka Province Women’s Representative Madam Belinda Mwape Chisanga.
Meanwhile, in Zingalume Lusaka Red Lions utilized their home ground advantage as they proved strong for Garden Youth Academy Girls with the captain of the side Brenda Miyanda scoring the only goal of the match converting from the penalty spot in the first half and that was enough for Red Lions to grab maximum 3 points with a 1-0 scoreline against struggling Garden Youth who are still winless as at week 4.
Elsewhere in Kafue, New Girls in town Chainda Bombers suffered another heavy defeat as they lost 6-0 to Kafue Celtic Queens in a match played at Naboye Secondary School Ground.
Lusaka Province Week 4 action will continue tomorrow, Sunday with three mouthwatering encounters lined up ahead of us across the capital city.
In Kanyama, King Soccer Academy Girls will host their neighbors Chibolya Girls in a local Derby set for lunchtime kick-off at 12:00hrs at Twashuka Ground while Twikatane Queens will entertain Stubborn Pataaki Girls at Twikatane Ground at 13:00hrs in a game Pataaki will be hoping to collect maximum points to reclaim the top position.
In Chawama, One Boss Lady will play host to the free-scoring Victorious United Queens who have been firing goals in all cylinders at 13:00hrs while Progress Sports Club(PSC) will welcome League debutants Terence Soccer Academy Girls (TSA) at Mt. Makulu Secondary School Ground at 15:00hrs to complete the week 4 activities in Lusaka.
