Round 21 action from the Lusaka Provincial FAZ Division one league over the weekend saw Misisi Youth Academy retaining their top slot on the table as Shamuel went back to winning ways.
Having lost the top slot 7 days ago, Misisi Youth Academy had to put up a good show to return to the summit of the table. Misisi went into the match against unpredictable Sable Bulls knowing that a win will take them to the top of the table.
The only goal of the match from Gabriel Banda was enough to do damage to Sable Bulls and guide his team to victory at Katwishi ground in Misisi Compound.
At Crested Crane Academy, Shamuel looks to have found their winning formula as they have registered 2 wins in a row. On Sunday afternoon, captain Richard Kasonde’s sixth goal of the season guided the Shamuel side to victory over Chainda Bombers who suffered their fourth defeat in five games.
Elsewhere, Riflemen had an opportunity to go second on the table with a win over Paramilitary but the match ended in a nil-all draw which meant they remain in third place with 26 points. Irwin Rangers were also held to a goalless by Vector football club.
Lusaka City Council thrashed the dangerous boys Athletico Lusaka 3-1 while Young Zanaco was brutally handed a 4-1 beating from Happy Hearts at Sunset stadium as their woes deepen and they remain stuck to the bottom of the table.
