Rescheduled week two games for the FAZ Lusaka Provincial Division One were full of action and saw a player and a soccer fun in an exchange of punches in Chainda as Fewdays Musonda managed to record a win for Shamuel.
Tempers flared at Catholic ground in Chainda when Chainda Bombers were in action against Chongwe United in a week 2 rescheduled match. This came after Chongwe United player exchanged punches with Chainda Bombers supporter who was mocking him. This did not sit well with the Chongwe Player who went to retaliate.
When contacted, Chainda Bombers media officer Tawanda Shawa explained what transpired:
“As Chainda Bombers we condemn the Chongwe striker. We (Chainda Bombers) were leading 2-0 when our supporter mocked him (Chongwe United striker) then him as a player left the pitch and followed the supporter. The supporter didn’t even punch him as they have posted in the WhatsApp group that the supporter punched him, he just pushed him to get back onto the pitch, but the Chongwe player went down and got back up to start the fight with our supporter. This all was happening in the presence of the Assistant referee. Lucky enough the match officials were able to calm the situation as early as possible and the match resumed,” Shawa told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview.
Meanwhile, getting the information from Chongwe United proved futile as their media officers’ phone could not go through.
Chainda Bombers won the match 2-1 with Stephen Chibuye and Potiphar Soko scoring for Chainda Bombers and Cornwell Buumba scored a consolation goal for Chongwe United.
In another action, Cent Kangwa’s strike inspired the Shamuel Academy to find a win after a drought they experienced and led them to make changes on the technical bench. Fewdays Musonda had his second league match in charge and walked away with a win over Kabwata Dynamos following a disappointing 2-1 loss in the first match to Vector FC in a week 20 match.
In other matches, Paramilitary who missed the services of their key goal machine Allan Bwalya due to an injury beat Young Zanaco 2-0 at Sunset Stadium. At Independence Stadium league leaders Young Green Buffaloes have held to a nil-all draw by Athletico Lusaka. Coach Cornwell Munyati is still struggling to find winning ways as they lost to Riflemen with Lawrence Phiri scoring the only goal of the match.
Airport Warriors and Lusaka City Council shared a point each following their 1 all draw at Chakunkula ground as Young Napsa moved to fourth place after an impressive 2-0 win over Sable Bulls and at Cooperative College ground it was Steven Ng’ambi’s goal that propelled Happy Hearts to a 1 nil win over Irwin Rangers.
