Lusaka Under-18 Girls Football Team has been crowned as champions of the 2022 Inter-Provincial National YOUTH Sports Festival after silencing Central Province Under-18 Girls.
The Kape Mellisa Saili coached side recorded am emphatic 3-0 win over Central Province to emerge winners of the tournament.
Tournament top goal scorer Esther Simpamba netted a brace while Msisi Queens wing wizard, Cindy Banda chipped in with a goal in the final played this afternoon at OYDC Ground in Lusaka.
Going into this match Lusaka defeated Southern Girls 3-2 in the semi-final while Central edged Northern Girls 1-nil in another semi-final to set up a mouthwatering final which was actually a rematch as both teams met in the group stages with Lusaka winning 2-nil to top Group A with 9 points while Central were second with 4 points.
