Lusaka Dynamos ready for Kabwe Warriors showdown

Lusaka Dynamos will return to Super League action this afternoon when they welcome Kabwe Warriors at Woodlands Stadium in a Week 22 clash.

Head coach Wedson Nyirenda is expecting a tough game against the Magnificent People’s team but says his team has prepared well for the challenge that Warriors may pose.

“The first thing is an update on the team, We had some knocks on one or two of our players but have since recovered and are looking good for tomorrow’s (today) game like any other game kabwe Warriors are poised to give us a challenge. It’s good that we played the first game at their home and we saw what they can do through a bit of time has passed and we know a lot has changed during this period,” he said.

“We had an opportunity to watch them in the ABSA cup against Zanaco and I think they are a good team, they have consolidated the team a few new faces which have brought in a different dimension in the game, I think all in all we are very much prepared for them we have done our homework so we just pray for the best tomorrow as we apply ourselves on the pitch.”

Nyirenda says the international break came at the wrong time when his team was just finding its form. Wada Wada describes the international break as not good for his team and came at a time his team was finding its rhythm.

“I should say one way it has not been so good for us, We are coming from a background of two which we felt now we can start pushing with the consistency of winning but this break came at a time we were on a high and the only advantage we had it helped us to do one or two things and worked on things that have not been happening in games we have played. The disadvantage is that we had several players that have been with their national teams, We had Otieno, Musa all in Kenya we had Cooper for Botswana and our own Collins Sikombe, we also had Paul Banda and the young Derrick Bulaya so you can see the number that left us, I think if it was a break with all those guys we could have done everything together but with 6 players away from the team, we had a lot of challenges. All in all, it has been a good two weeks we have worked on one of two things it has happened us,” he said

“I think it’s always a very difficult thing to replace regular players but we now have all the players. We have prepared some players who will take their places. We have Musa, We have Marvin, We have Chibanga, We have Ramsey, those players have been with us for a very long time and they know our project they know our philosophy and how we play so I think it won’t be so much of a hustle for us it’s going to be good.”
