Lubambo: There’s nothing to fear

Chipolopolo skipper Lubambo Musonda says Zambia will give everything on the pitch to ensure qualification to the next round of the Africa Cup of Nations.

In a pre-match press conference, Lubambo says the lads were up for the challenge as they face Morocco at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro.

“There is nothing to fear. We are in for the challenge. We are here to give everything on the pitch,” he said.

“Everyone in the team knows what is at stake. We are prepared for what’s coming ahead of us. We know what not to do on the pitch and what we are supposed to do”.

Lubambo said although the fans had doubts about the team’s prospects at the AFCON, the lads still believed.

“Of course, there are some doubts among fans but among ourselves as players, we believe in ourselves. We believe that we can go through this,” he said.
“You could see from how we played in the last game, where we were a man down but with the belief that we had, pushed us to get a goal in the second half and force a draw.”

Zambia and already qualified Morocco face off on Wednesday in a Group F clash at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro.

Morocco tops the group on four points while DR Congo and Zambia have two points each with Tanzania rooted on one point.

Top two teams in each group qualify to the knockout stages while four places are available for the third-best placers losers.
