Local players train as Chipolopolo start Mozambique preps

Twelve local players were part of the morning training session at Sunset Stadium as Zambia national soccer team started preparing for the back to back African Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique and Cape Verde.

Zesco United’s Nyambe Mulenga was the only player who missed the session at Sunset Stadium but the Chipolopolo centre-back is expected to report by Monday morning.

The local players had a double session as they trained also in the afternoon behind closed doors as the country still mourns the death of H.E. President Sata.

As from Monday, the foreign based players will start to trickle from their bases before the team’s planned departure for Maputo on Thursday most likely on chartered plane.

Chipolopolo Boys coach Honour Janza is likely to name two local players in his starting line up. Nyambe and most likely Bruce Musakanya will start although the Red Arrows’ winger must fend off competition from Eastern Europe based Lubambo Musonda.
