Chipolopoloc oach Honour Janza will be sweating on the fitness of Kennedy Mweene after the Chipolopolo number one missed a second consecutive game for his South African Club Mamelodi Sundowns owing to an injury.
Zambianfootball.co.zm understands that Mweene suffered a groin injury and was on Sunday evening was not even named on the bench in Sundowns’ 1 – 0 loss t Plaotinum Stars in the Telkom Knock-out semi final.
The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations golden glove winner is expected to join the national team tomorrow ahead of the crucial game against Mozambique next weekend.
Janza has Toaster Nsabata and Danny Munyao as back-ups in goal and may fall back on Munyao in case Mweene doesn’t recover in time.
However Munyao has hardly played a game for his club this season despite accounting for himself well in the friendlies his has played for Chipolopolo against Sudan and Ivory Coast.
Nsabata on the other hand has been an ever present figure in the Nchanga Rangers goal though his last game for Chipolopolo against Japan was viewed by many as a disaster.
As earlier reported, Chipolopolo captain Stopilla Sunzu is also expected to pass a fitness test after he limped off during a league game for his club on Friday.

KENNEDY MWEENEs services will be missed if he doesn’t recover fast
Munyau can do the job.
There’s nothing to sweat about when we have Munyau & Toaster there.
Bring back the Power keeper – is it Titima? But Munyao is a good keeper and we cant worry in that area.
