We can still manufacture our own luck.
If you look at the fighting spirit of The Gambia, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, Mauritania, Cameroon and Namibia. What is wrong with Zambia. No urgency in defense or attack.
Good game Zambia had, Chaiwa is a rising star.
Well, a tough lesson learned honestly. When you fall apart against teams you are supposed to beat like Tanzania then you can’t expect to get far. These guys have tasted AFCON. They can only get better from here.
This was a much improved performance. Zambia didn’t learn a lesson from the Niger loss in the World Cup qualifiers. The first game against DRC was like the Niger game. The main problem this team had is 4 players that to me looked like they were no 100% fit or lucked game time.
Rodrick Kabwe
Emmanuel Banda
Fackson Kapumbu
Kings Kangwa
Zambia needs a midfielder with the tenacity and grit of Lameck Banda. Someone that can pick the ball from the back and push forward through the middle and have options on the wings and top center man Patson Daka. Right now it is very easy for any team to stop Zambia. Just cut supply of their wing play and they fall flat with no other solution. The team that started today is the team that should have started against Tanzania with one exception. I would have played Fashions, Patson, Lameck and Edward at some point together. I want to ses the young Joseph Banda groomed to be the creative player Zambia needs in the next 2 years. Call the kid up to the national team.
By the way, Miguel Chaiwa was very impressive, he would have formed a solid midfield duo with Enoch Mwepu who was greatly missed in this tournament.
