  1. 11′ Zambia 0 – 0 Guinea
Good pressure by Chris earns Zambia a corner, taken quickly Zambia xome close as goalie collects
12′ Cross from the left find Abubakar free in the box but they head over the bar. Close!

  2. 19′ Zambia 0 – 0 Guinea
Another header by Chris is just off target
20′ Guinea come back at Zambia with close chances but some last ditch defending saves Zambia

  3. 31′ Zambia 0 – 0 Guinea
Guinea literally walking there way into the Zambian box with passes.
Final ball lacking but something may break for them at this rate!!!

  4. 37′ Zambia 0 – 0 Guinea
Great effort by Chris to get in front of his marker and win the header but his effort is again off target.
    38′ Free kick Guinea…
On target but Jacob saves on second attempt after he spilled the ball which was goalward

  5. This kind of display by Zambia is not good at all. Why do our team like to put themselves under pressure? They should keep possession of the ball and not allow Guinea to dictate play.

  6. Correct observation by Billy. Long balls are not working. Our passing is poor. High balls also not working. We can’t even slower the game against a quicker opponent. …now only hoping Chris heads in, otherwise not much in terms of creative play.

  7. HT: Very poor performance by Zambia. Zambia should keep possession and mount pressure on Guinea. They should not allow Guinea to dictate play. Also we are too slow. Guinea could be leading by 3-0 at half time had it not been for poor finishing on their part. Guinea is all over Zambia. Zambia is playing like an amateur side. I am sorry to say this but this is the state of affairs at Umuganda stadium. Zambia has to change system of play otherwise I will be surprised if Zambia wins with this shambolic performance.

  8. Hard to believe this is Zambia national team playing. Just a lack of quality players. Katongo seems the only likely goal scorer. Guinea literally having a party in the midfield. It seems Zambia’s game plan is “kick the ball forward to Katongo.”

  9. 50′ Zambia 0 – 0 Guinea
    Zambia start well pressing Guinea
    51′ Cletous freekick….
From the left and its close to the keeper who wins a free kick

    • Its one of the reasons I like American sports like football and basketball, officials are allowed to review calls for correction. That was not an offside.

  10. That goal looks legitimate. It should have stood. Overall poor performance by Zambia. If by fluke Zambia makes to semi-final, DRC will feast on Zambia if the team doesn’t improve. The guys are being cowed by Guinea.

  11. Why do you guys always have a bad negativity towards the National Team. As much as opinion are okay to express, sometimes its important to show some support and vote of confidence in the team when they play badly.

  12. Is Mulau a striker? I can see why he was played upfront in terms of heading the ball on for a running Katongo, but other than that, he has shown nothing in terms of ability to be open or even take a chance on goal

    • Agreed Billy. We need to improve. I don’t know why people thought this Guinea team was a walkover. This team survived Tunisia and beat Nigeria. All in all it was a good experience

  13. Zambia has no striker I said it. This lwandimina is too defensive minded. The team selection also seems biased are you telling me mulao and patson daka are the best strikers in zambia.

  14. Losing or winning is not the issue. The issue is POOR POOR POOR TYPE OF PLAYING. Nigeria went out, Tunisia as well but you could see football. Anyway we are used and we cannot throw them. Come for a drink bonse 23 Ku G GREENS as we await CONGO in March.

  15. This is a good experience for the younger players and it’s all about growth. I’m not even upset about losing this game. Guinea played better than us the whole game. We were lacking and then we were panicking when we finally got into the game. There has to be better talent in the league than this, but I also think the tactics need to be adjusted. Guinea basically played the same way Mali did; they squeezed us in with their pressing. Lwandamina was smart in bringing in Mulau to try and redirect long balls unto Chris Katongo, but problems came about because Mulau was too one dimensional. Also, that Thiam player from Guinea was allowed to dictate the midfield. Players tried to close him down, but he was too skillful. Defensively, Zambia was solid aside from the mentioned Thiam. Up front is where we are lacking, the wing play was also lacking. Sautu was a breath of fresh air when he came on, but not enough space was afforded to him. Anyhow, enough blabbering. I will leave the analysis to true analysts of the game. Better players, okay plan, more effort needed.

    • No! Lwandamina shud be given the contract, he has done well without conceding in the normal playing minutes and the system he is applying is ok.

  16. I kno the ref was biased but the coach is a f00l 2 give Katongo 2 take the 1st penalty the guys has the same trick 4 10yrs that Goal keeper grew up watchn Katongo that f00l has skills but he has no brains and the coach knows that how do u have the same trick on penalts?

  17. We are tired of these disappointment! lwandamina shud go! we need a coach who can read the game properly. minows like Mozambique they hav a new coach what is happening in zambia to hv a forein coach?

  18. Hard luck guys, penalties can swing either way , better luck next time.
Quarter finals are always the cut off point cos was you pass that hurdle then all is possible.Congratulations to Guinea, walk on n make your country proud.

  19. You can not win without instinctive good strikers like Kalengo, Zambia would have been booted out earlier if Chansa & Katongo were not included.

  20. I am not sure why so many people are convinced Zambia were poor on the day! Guinea having the majority of the possession does not make Zambia bad. The only area Zambia were clearly second best in was upfront. Katongo did not have much help. I am not sure what his strike partner was doing up there. He rarely won any aerial challenges. The substitution of Chansa was a bit of a surprise, other than that, I thought the team was competitive. That penalty shootout could have gone either way. It’s called a lottery for a reason.

  21. The boys tried it’s hard luck if was not our day overall we have exited with honour the only team that did not concede in regular time in the tournament
