Mbesuma is playing deep in midfield and he has so far done very well in distributing the ball

Kabaso doing best what he has been brought in for…. trying to centre the ball at every chance he gets

  13. Someone ought to tell the kenyans to go back & play it’s bad enough they are a goal down…..would they rather lose by 0-3 scoreline via the boardroom?….let them just play

  14. 29′ Congo 0 – 0 Zambia
Referee blowing for too many unnecessary fouls against the Zambian attackers as Kalengo concedes another

  15. Opposition Watch: Kenya 0-1 Guinea Bissau. The away side scored in the 84th minute and from the replays, the referee made the right call but Kenya fans feel the ball didnt cross the line. Play has been stopped.

  16. 45′ Congo 0 – 0 Zambia
Congo win a free kick near Zambia’s left corner flag and the free kick finds an attacker but they head over the bar

  17. A good half for Zambia especially considering that they are playing away.
Nathan and Jack have a presence in midfield breaking down a lot of Congo moves.
Kabamba had a rocky start but seems to have withered the pressure while Kabaso Chongo has done ok and has swept in a few crosses.
Mbesuma has been the catalyst of Zambia’s attacks from midfield with Lubambo putting in some good runs.
With Mbesuma playing deep, Kalengo is mostly isolated upfront.
Lwandamina will be happy with the attitude as the boys have not sat back but are taking the game punch for punch.

  18. Kind of dull game. Nothing much to write home about. Maybe it’s too hot there. Both teams not playing fast game. I expected something better from both sides. Let’s wait and see second half.

  19. Game in Kenya has not resumed yet.
Kenya disputing the goal scored. As it stands, Guinea Bissau will be the surprise leaders if Group E

  20. That was a poor show by George Lwandamina’s side. The side lacked any ambition and it appears the coach is more concerned with avoiding defeat than winning this match. This is clear from his inclusion of Jack Chirwa as a defensive midfielder alongside Nathan Sinkala. Chirwa has no passing ability and no vision and his aim appears to be simply disrupting Congolese play. This means that there is little link-up play between defence and midfield because Chirwa is not holding possession and neither is he passing accurately. Kalengo is just a spectator in the match because he is not being serviced by the midfielders. What a boring match to watch!

  21. Poor defending from a corner kick by Zambia and John Musengo again punishes Zambia after he scored the equalizer in Ndola

  22. 48′ Congo 1 – 0 Zambia
Another freekick for corner deep in our half but the execution this time is poor from the Congo side

  23. 51′ Congo 1 – 0 Zambia
As it stands, Zambia are in third position with only team expected to qualify from the group

  24. 58′ Congo 1 – 0 Zambia
Clear cange of tactics by Zambia.
Mbesuma goes in a more advanced position in attack as he joins Kalengo.
Chris playing just behind the two strikers and Sinkala goes in the holding role

  25. 59′ Congo 1 – 0 Zambia
Best chance for Zambia in this half as Kalengo’s cross found a free Mbesuma but he heads over the bar

  26. 60′ Congo 1 – 0 Zambia
Awful defending in central defense as they gift Congo a chance with a poor touch from Mfune which leave the striker one on one with Mweene and he saves with his trailing leg

  27. Tight, Zambia are almost but out of this race. I don’t see how Zambia can win in Guinea. Could this be the curse of King Kalu?

  28. This economy has even affected our football too. We cant get a quality coach who can employ good attaching/game changing tactics.

  29. Zambia has no deliberate pattern of attack beyond players kicking at the ball with hail passes and amateurish attempts at goal. Watch South Africa in the penalty zone, they play with purpose. We need coaches from Barcelona.

  30. 68′ Congo 1 – 0 Zambia
Pass from Mbesuma find Luchanga in the ‘D’ and he turns his marker but his shot is blocked

  31. @Copper Boots ..I dont agree with you ,Bafana might have performed well against Cameroun but they have disappointed more at numerous occasions .Dont just use one game to asses the team’s performance

    • @Luapula Fish, Bafana Bafana can string many passes together outside and inside the D. This has been their game for quite a while; quick angled passes and runs in the oppositions half. Our goals are more a result of individual brilliance than team play. Ever since Isaac Chansa left the team, the link play between the attacking midfielders and the strikers is weak leading to Mbesuma dropping back to fill the gap but due to his size it’s easy for him to get around, Mbesuma is most effective when he sits in the pocket as a striker and makes clever runs in the D zone or holds up play and distributes play in or around the D zone. The team lacks the link play of Issac Chansa, the delivery and creativity of Fwayo Tembo and Chisamba Lungu, the seasoned aerial threat of Rodgers Kola. Lubambo Musonda is too green, a more experienced local player like Alex Ngonga can contribute more.

  32. 70′ Congo 1 – 0 Zambia
Luchanga caught offside after a good Katongo pass
    71′
Kabaso pushes forward and finds Luchanga whose smashed shot on target is only saved by the keeper
    71′
Chris shoots from range and its over the bar

  33. Kalaba puts in a beautiful which is headed by Kalengo and it comes off the cross bar, Mbesuma shoots again and Kalengo finishes it

  34. 75′ Congo 1 – 1 Zambia
Congo seem to have a lot space to run into in the midfield, we need another midfielder to keep shape

  35. 77′ Congo 1 – 1 Zambia
What a miss by Mbesuma with only the keeper to beat and Kalengo fails to finish the rebound
78′ Mweene also mistimes a cross but the resultant shot is blocked for a corner

  36. It’s time to push in Chansa and consolidate the midfield now. Then we can have a final push for a winning goal. We need to kill off the tempo somehow.

  37. 85′ Congo 1 – 1 Zambia
Zambia attack with Kalaba and Kalengo interchanging passes but Kalaba shoots over from outside the box

  38. 87′ Congo 1 – 1 Zambia
Sheer quality from Mbesuma as he runs with ball from midfield into the box but his shot is off the cross bar

  39. Better a draw than a lose. Coz if we lost, then the calculations would be in-thing. All we need is to be desccilined with the remaining games!!!

  40. Should have won the Game in Lusaka with Congo. We dropped 4 point out of possible 6. Zambia will need to win against Kenya and away in GB.

  41. Zambia denied a clear penalty. That should have been a penalty to Zambia. That Senegalese ref was suspect.
In GB we need to go out for a win. We should not play defensive game in GB.

  42. Gentlemen we old you that J. Chirwa is not national team material. Our Central defense was a problem missed Sunzu big time.
Lwadamina should believe in his tam ability to attack. Look what happened in the last 15 minutes when we went in attack mould.

  43. George is too defensive minded, he forgets that attacking is the best way of defending. If he had started with Chris!!!!!

  44. “Definition of insanity” coaching; he keeps repeating the same tactics over and over again hoping to get a different result.

  45. I am not impressed with the display. I do not know why the coach even employed a defensive line up in the first half. In the next match, Lwandamina should start Katongo ahead of Chirwa. Then he should use his discretion to choose between Luchanga and Lubambo. With the coming back of Kangwa and Chisamba, we can dismantle GB at home, in Bissau.
Otherwise, we started slow to the game. We should have started fast and stronger. Otherwise that Congo Brazzaville team is not very strong.

  46. Congo might lose in their next game against Kenya, a draw will be a bonus for them whilst they will be hoping that Zambia loses to Guinea Bissau. If we collect six points in the remaining games , then we are through.

  47. Lwandamina is a fool ck played well at levy but he decides to start wit that fool jc.what the hell is wrong with his brains?

  48. @ Alex The goal cannot be judged for an offside because it had crossed the goal line from the first shot at goal by Kalengo.

  49. @Billy these Congo B are strong at home. We made a mistake of drawing at home. So far we have drawn all our home games. That’s 4 points lost. I agree with you with a return of Chisamba, Sunzu and maybe Mayuka we can beat GB away.
We seem to play better away from home. The chances we missed today we should has won today.

    • Indeed, agreed @Sibs. By the Mayuka needs to be looked at by the coach as well. Sunzu, Chisamba, Kangwa and probably Mayuka will make a difference moving forward. The good thing is that we are not losing away games, but winning or drawing.

  50. Otherwise, it’s good we avoided a defeat. We are still in it. I am sure from these two game, the coach must have seen for himself what he needs to do going forward. But tactically, Lwandamina is bankrupt. The absence of Sunzu was clearly seen. The left back also was porous. Kabamba needs to pull up his socks, the reason why we calling Mbola to be recalled.

  51. George Lwandamina cost us the match with his negative approach to the match in the first half with his 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 system. It appears his instructions were for the team to sit back and allow the Congolese to come at us. When we had possession we were happy to simply pass the ball in our own half. Winstone Kalengo was isolated upfront and when the ball was played to him on the rare occassion, he made the wrong runs or left the ball behind him. He had a shocking match and should have been substituted if we had other options.

  52. This is time to make changes players like luchanga chilwa mfune and others should give chance to kangwa bola singuluma. its time to use experience no experiments with inexperienced players in the remaining games. Thanks to katongo he brought in the confidence the team. Let us look for permanet player to partner sunzu our defence was not solid. Ba coach you were not suppose to start with chirwa please know your player and what they can do and what they can not do

  53. Chirwa is not national material I wonder why chansa couldn’t get play otherwise mbesuma by far has the football brains Wether he is not on form he still plays well
    our defence awe mwandi
Mweene must find a team and start playing otherwise the coach must bold and drop him that goal was his mistake just like the one he concerded in ndola
secondly this chipolopolo team can play even without a coach and win. ..chicken is not a clever coach period
at the pace we are going I won’t be surprised if miss out of afcon
