Chipolopolo winger Lameck Banda will join his US Lecce teammates today ahead of tomorrow’s showdown with Genoa.
Banda is expected to fly directly to Genoa to link up with his teammates following Zambia’s early exit at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Banda played in all three of the Chipolopolo’s group matches in Ivory Coast.
Zambia finished third in group F with just two points after drawing their opening two matches and losing the last match to tournament favourites, Morocco.
Banda’s return is a boost for Lecce who are winless in their last five games which includes defeats to four teams in the top six in Juventus, Inter Milan, Lazio and Atalanta.
Roberto D’versa’s men will be looking to get their second win over Genoa in 13 meetings.
Lecce are currently 14th on the log with 21 points while Genoa are 11th with 25 points.
Lecce and Genoa will lock horns tomorrow at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris with kick off set at 13h30.
