Lameck Banda expected back as Grant is set to name squad

Zambia National Team head coach Avram Grant is set to name his squad for the back to back  26 FIFA World Cup™ qualifiers next week.

The 2012 African Cup of Nations Champions winners will open their FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a home tie against Congo Brazzaville on November 17, 2023.

A week later Zambia will be away in Niger on match day 2 on 21st November.

Grant has been boosted by the return to action of Serie A live wire Lameck Banda who had been sidelined since September and subsequently missed the international break matches against Egypt and Uganda.

The former Chelsea boss is expected to name a similar 23 member squad with the likes of Patson Daka, Edward Chilufya, Emmanuel Banda, Klings Kangwa and Fashion Sakala headlining it.

The Chipolopolo Boys will be hoping to start their World Cup qualification campaign on a bright note as they aim to make it to their first ever global showpiece.
