Copper Queens forward Rachel Kundananji scored a goal and assisted another as Bay FC thrashed North Carolina Courage 3-0.
Kundananji set up Karlie Lema for the opener 14 minutes into the match with a long searching ball as Lema outpaced the Courage defenders before going round the goalkeeper and slotting home with ease.
Lema doubled the lead three minutes later this time with a close range finish after being set up by Alexandra Pfeiffer.
Kundananji then slotted home the third goal nine minutes into the second half to seal an emphatic win.
The win continues Bay FC’s dominance over North Carolina Courage winning four and drawing one in six match ups.
Kundananji will now head to Algeria to link up with the Copper Queens who are in their final phase of preparations for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026.
The COSAFA giants have been placed in group C alongside defending champions Nigeria, regional rivals Malawi and Egypt.
The tournament will run from 26 July to 16 August in Morocco and will also serve as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with four automatic qualification places available for African teams.
