Copper Queens striker Rachel Kundananji has been nominated for the prestigious Goal50 award organised by Goal.com.
Kundananji joins the likes of Lauren James, Sophia Smith, Aitana Bonmati & Sam Kerr for the GOAL50 women’s category.
Kundananji was four weeks ago awarded the Estrella Damm Best Goal award at the 3rd edition of Mundo Deportivo’s European Women’s Football awards.
This came just four days after Kundananji won the revelation (breakthrough player) of the season at the MARCA Women’s Sports Awards.
The Madrid CFF player finished the season with 25 goals in Spanish Liga F, being the second highest scorer in the 2022/2023 Spanish Liga F season only behind Spain and Levante forward Alba Maria Redondo Ferrer (27).
She scored against 13 of the 15 teams she faced: Alhama (3), Levante Las Planas (3), Betis (3), Athletic Club (3), Real Sociedad (2), Barcelona (2), Costa Adeje Tenerife (2), Alavés (2), Villarreal, Levante, Sporting de Huelva, Real Madrid and Valencia.
Kundananji only failed to score against Atlético de Madrid and Sevilla.
It was FC Barcelona star Alexia Putellas who won the award last year as the Barcelona Femeni star won her second consecutive GOAL50 award, ahead of Spain team-mate Aitana Bonmati and USWNT forward Alex Morgan.
GOAL has shortlisted the 50 best female – and male – footballers based on how they performed during the 2022-23 season – and it’s up to you to decide who comes out on top.
The two players with the most votes from the randomly selected head-to-heads from each category will be declared the GOAL50 winners for this year.
The polls are open from November 27 to December 11 and, this year, there is a prize draw open to all participants.
