Ugandan goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya has returned to the Zambia Super League, two and half years after leaving the country.
Kigonya will have a second stint in Zambia following his acquisition by Trident FC.

🔱 Mathias Kigonya (27) made his name in the Zambian Super league when he featured for Forest Rangers FC in the transitional League and was one of the standout performers before signing for Azam FC in the Tanzanian premier league.”
The club has also confirmed the acquisition of left back Paul Katayi, from National league side Aguila Stars FC on a 2 year deal following the expiration of his contract.
Earlier they announced the arrival of 24 year old forward Joseph Mumbi, from Mufulira Wanderers FC on a 2 year deal.
Meanwhile striker Pedro Miguel Bengi has returned to the club after signing from ZESCO United FC on a 2 year permanent contract up to June 2025.
Pedro scored 14 goals in 17 appearances for Trident FC in the first half of the 2021-22 National league season before heading to Zesco United FC.
The lanky forward was last season on loan at Nchanga Rangers and emerged as the team’s top scorer with 7 goals.
