Chipolopolo goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene who captained Zambia in Sunday’s loss against Namibia says he failed to pick anything wrong from the way his team played but noted that with the game going to penalties, it was anyone’s game.
Mweene said the team in South Africa had a lot of young players and it was good exposure for them.
“I don’t think there was anything wrong, I think the guys gave the best, we lost on penalties, it is a lottery,” Mweene said.
“We are here with a lot of youngsters who are up coming, it s good experience for them,” Mweene said
However, the team which featured against Namibia had seven players; Kennedy Mweene, Donashano Malama, Christopher Munthali, Emmanuel Mbola, Kondwani Mtonga, Jackson Mwanza and Mukuka Mulenga all who featured at the last Africa Cup of Nations and should have been a head above the Namibians.

Jackson mwanza is useless
GHANA IS OUT OF COSAFA–MADASGASCAR -2 GHANA -1
Zambia should have won that match without any struggle, our strikers were clueless. the coach is also a suspect.
The whole team was disjointed. Their legs looked like they were tied before the match. They could not even run or string some passes here and there. The only player I saw life in him was Mukuka Mulenga. The rest were useless. The only worry is that most of these players form a large part of the senior team. Wonder how it will be meeting Congo and Kenya in the afcon 2017 qualifying games. Even Guinea Bissau will embarrass Zambia if we are not careful. They have assembled a team with most of their players from europe (like Cape Verde has done). And don’t know what Mweene is talking about. I guess he is just trying to “pour cold water on the fire”. Mweene is just trying to be diplomatic not to dampen his friends’ morale.
Mweene just shat the hell up o.k,what the hell do you mean you saw nothing in the way you played ?I thought you experienced enough to see that Malama,Jackson,Justin were soo useless and pathetic ,the best you should have said was sorry to the National or maybe it is the English because your clown coach was saying learning now you also rubbishing.
Chasing shadows the entire game against minnows! And then you say there was nothing wrong.
U mean Juckson Mwanza is a youngstar? Donashano Malama and Kalengo are youngsters???Mweene ur equally a fool together ur useless coach Janza…
It was a very bad game for us. But as I observed earlier, it is always difficult to come in and play a team that has already been together and played 3 games. You fine they already have developed telepathy and hit the road running, while you are trying to develop coordination. It is very difficult and hard, unless you come already very prepared. at the AFCON 2012, that’s how we hit Senegal. We were much much more prepared than they were and we hit the road running while they were picking up the pieces.
As for the game at hand, it appeared as if we have left all our strikers in Lusaka or on the Copperbelt. The defence was weak but very stable. So a lot of work at hand before we are ready to compete there where it mattered most.
Failing to Progress in a COSAFA tourney is a factor worthy worrying a lot about.
Too bad for Zambian football and all of us as fans. Whatever is wrong it must be corrected now before we kick start afcon Preps. What are we missing in the Chipolopolo? A box to box midfieilder wich we had in Isaac Chansa and up to now we have not found a replacement. Yesterday’s game we played Justin Zulu in attacking midfield who is naturaly a holding midfielder. Janza has a tendency of misplacing players like @ the Just ended afcon he always used Singuluma in midfield insted of using him as a striker; Sate Sate was used as a number 10 insted of number 9. In ywsterday’s game, had he used Allan Mukuka and Kennedy Mudenda in the wings and then use Mukuka Mulenga in attacking midfield role we would have seen much creativity.Nkausu should have started ahead of Donashano as he has not proven to be national team material. Jackson Mwanza may perform well in the league but definitely not worthy of National team call up. The strikers we need are Roger Kola,Evans Kangwa,Alex Ng’onga,Patson Daka,Jacob Mulenga and Jimmy Ndhlovu.
I disagree with the reasoning of whoever wrote this article. Last paragraph says Zambia had seven players from the last Alcon we should’ve been a head above Namibia. This type of myopic reasoning is what’s wrong with us Zambians. Look at the calibre of those seven players. Only Mweene and maybe Kondwani Mtonga are worth a mention among the seven. Did you honestly expect Namibia to hide their tails between their legs just because seven zambian players were at Alcon? A tournament where we only managed to embarrass ourselves? Reputation only works in the media not on the pitch.
Afcon
My best starting line up for qualities:Mweene, kabaso,Mbola,Katebe,Sunzu,N Sinkala,Chisamba,Kalaba,Mayuka,Kola and Jacob.sub Fwayo,Mudenda,Mukuka Mulenga,Alan Mukuka,Kangwa,Sate Sate,Muntali,Kondwani,Nkausu,Munyau and Nsabata.ba faz you can’t see lost glory in these guys sure or maybe you have turned faz into business venture were you want to be selling players even before they are not cooked enough. shame
True, your right but you can’t forget Lubambo Musonda in your proposed squad. No place for useless players.
Are you sure Mbola the over-rated (not even among my best ever 100 left backs we’ve had from time i started watching the National Team) left back should still be in the Team?
GHANA LOST TO MADASGASCAR -2 GOALS TO 1
GHANA IS OUT OF COSAFA TOO..
Madagascar has beaten Ghana 2-1 (in normal 90 minutes of play) in the ongoing COSAFA tournament. All the big guns South Africa, Zambia and Ghana are out.
Zambia will however play Ghana in the plate (losers) semi-final and South Africa will play the loser between Mozambique vs Malawi. This is interesting now. The plate semi-finals and eventually plate finals will be more interesting to watch than the winners tournament consisting of Namibia, Botswana, Madagascar, winner between Moz vs Malawi.
Excuses,Excuses all failures like them what happened I.e failing to beat Namibia is UNACCEPTABLE and JANZA must GO!
I think our coach is incompetent to handle the National team its high time FAZ considered bringing in a new coach before afcon qualifies and save this great footballing nation the embarrassment of failing to qualify for afcon and world cup.May God bless zambian football
Lets hope HR takes Sunzu with him to Lille

Mweene is really a fool if he can’t see wrongs in the team. These are the guys after retiring are appointed coaches.
Surely you fail to score/win & you say there was nothing wrong?
Very poor. Get the striker from Lusaka Dynamos, partner him with Evans Kangwa and then take a wake and discover a holding midfielder from Luapula. Build a team arround those three.
