Kennedy Musonda set to leave Young Africans

Chipolopolo striker Kennedy Musonda is set to leave Tanzanian giants Young Africans after 2 and half years at the club, the ZamFoot Crew understands.

Musonda joined Young Africans Sports Club (YANGA SC) in January 2023 from Power Dynamos

Musonda’s current contract at Wananchi Vijana Stars  is set to expire at the end of the month. The former Power Dynamos striker has had an impressive stint in East Africa.

He helped Young Africans to a league title, Azam Federation Cup and runners up position in the CAF Confederations Cup in his first six months in 2023.

He also won the Zambian Super League with Power Dynamos having scored 11 goals for the Kitwe giants before his departure.

Musonda also won the League and Federation Cup in 2024 with YANGA SC. The 2025 League title is Musonda’s third with the Tanzanian giants since his switch from Power Dynamos.

The 30 year old will not be short of suitors but it’s not yet clear if he will return back home or continue his adventure outside the country.

Musonda has also played for Lusaka Dynamos, ZANACO and Green Eagles in the MTN Super League.

Musonda was also the Chipolopolo Boys top goalscorer in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with four goals as he stepped up in the absence of Patson Daka.

Meanwhile Clatous Chama is reportedly set to end his remarkable eight-year stint in Tanzanian football with a lucrative season-long deal with a Gulf-region side apparently on the table.
