Undoubtedly, it would be be a season a forget for Zesco United if it ended right now after one of the difficult campaigns.
Zesco’s five-match streak of losses ended yesterday as they rallied to an important 1-0 victory over an in-form Nchanga Rangers side in Chingola.
Especially that prior to the win over Nchanga they had put up a spirited performance in the 3-2 defeat at home to champions & red-hot Power Dynamos.
It was a performance that was only overshadowed by the two goals conceded as a result of poor goalkeeping.
So has Zesco finally found their winning mojo? We wait & see.
In the midst of their woeful run, the controversial absences of two key players Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba and Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga has been another screaming headline.
Kemuka & Bazo, unarguably two of the most talented players to grace the ZPL, remain under the ranks of Zesco but freezed out of the first-team for weeks now.
Records & numbers don’t lie, the duo have won it all in Zambian football and are proven to have what it takes to rekindle any team’s fortunes in the ZPL.
While it remains to be seen whether or not they will be making their way back into the team, the question that continues to hover my head is;
What impact can the experienced duo of Kemuka & Bazo still have at the club even as Zesco look overturn their difficult season or is the story between them & Zesco really over?
