Former Mali striker Frédéric Kanouté will be in Zambia for a two week working visit as part of his continued collaboration with Zambian side Kafue Celtic.
Celtic took to social media to confirm Kanoute’s visit.
Kanoute played as a striker for several top-tier clubs in Europe, enjoying his greatest success with La Liga side Sevilla.
Kanouté was named the 2007 African Footballer of the Year, the first player born outside Africa to win the award.
During the visit, Kanoute will host a training camp with a focus on areas such as talent identification, coaching, youth football development, as well as club organisation generally.

Frédéric Kanouté, football consultant, visits Zambia to advise Kafue Celtic Football Club.
Lusaka, 9th May 2024- Frédéric Kanouté, football consultant, continues collaboration with Kafue Celtic Football Club in Zambia, to enhance youth football development.
Kanouté is on a two-week working visit to continue his support for Kafue Celtic FC. This underscores the long-term commitment of the club and Kanouté to foster youth football development in Zambia.
“It’s a great opportunity to contribute to the development of youth football in Zambia,” stated Frédéric Kanouté. “My objective is to equip the club with the necessary skills and expertise to nurture young talent and drive positive change within the local football community.”
During the visit, Kanouté and his team will deliver an intensive training camp, including technical support clinics tailored to the specific needs of Kafue Celtic FC.
The focus will be training on areas such as talent identification, coaching, youth football development, as well as club organisation generally.
