Israel based forward Evans Kangwa has been handed a late call to the national team by Chipolopolo Boys coach Honour Janza.
The in-form Kangwa who came off the bench to net a brace for his club in Israel was initially omitted by Janza but fans questioned the logic of leaving out the AFCON 2012 winner.
Janza succumbed to pressure and now the Nkana striker who is on loan at Hapoel Ra’anana is back to bring the number of players in camp to 27.
Kangwa together with his clubmate Emmanuel Mbola will arrive in the country on Tuesday.
The local players will go into camp this Saturday.

Thanks a mill.. for giving us (the fans) an ear.
Now it’s upto to the young bloodz to justify the changes n get results.
Oke wishing him all the best. Its like the squad is full of strikers now. We have put more pressure on the Coach. I thought the coach should be given a chance to do his game plan. Let’s wait and see maybe its for our good results.
We stand a beta chance to pull through to the finals and dedicate the Qualification to our beloved late president ( mhsrip)
Welcome Avra Grant, to Ghana’s hotseat job.
we dont care
bring him over here in Zambia so that we give him a welcome to Africa by beating yo team
Now with Evans Kangwa and Ronald Kampamba in the starting line-up against the Mambas, we shall reduce them to Worms in there own backyard.
Bro Mayuka has to start he is our best striker. I prefer mayuka and kangwa up front. Mayuka will cause problems mark my words
It makes sense but brings into play the coach’s decision making abilities. Wonder if he will even play. Like Mayuka was made to watch last time. I just wish the team all the best
if he was pressured to call kangwa. do u think that he will even play him?.
John how is Mayuka our best strker when in the last 2yrs he’s scored less goals than Sate, Jacob, Sinkala, Katongo Chris, Mbesuma and Evans for the National Team? Unless emotionally so but yours isn’t empirical. But I agree with you that he should start with Evans in Moz. Sate Sate just needs the last thirty (Sate) minutes if others fail and see what he will do. Hoping the kids won’t be judged on the basis of one or two games when the so called “experienced” ones have landed us in this precarious situation.
Kangwa-Mayuka combination is deadly and can dismantle any defence if well supplied with good balls.
Our playmakers have not been doing their job and surprisingly all the pressure and blame is piled on the strikers who bang in goals for their respective clubs. Please open your eyes and see reality as it is!
http://zambiansoccernet.com. there exist this site. jst like ghanasoccernet, its dry
Kangwa Mayuka partnership will be deadly mark my words
@John,u will soon care by calling Janza’s useless{trademark comment} and shouting for your FAZ to hire Bonetti /Lother Matheaus or any top european coach,MARK THIS.
@paradox,tame those ANTS b4 thinking about the LIONS, ELEPHANTS,EAGLES and STARS in that order.
all. above except the eagles we have hummerd. worse the black stars twice in a row.
reading is one part nd understanding it is another, ok leme break it down for u,beat lesotho, sudan, mozambique and zimbabwe ,then fantasize abt qualifying to the WC by beating those GUYs fro the west, emphasis WC.beating the stars landed u where? 1. a fluke lucky cup of which even Djibouti in zambian shoes at that time wud have won?2. WC fiasco which even came with three free points yet u woefully failed and later cried to CAF and FIFA for a non existing maltreament?please!
Mayuka is the best striker in the land form is temporary but class is permanent. Mayuka won the afcon for zambia with that world class strike against Ghana black stars. If Jacob Mulenga was not injured and played in 2012 zambia was never going to win afcon. Mayuka is the one who won afcon. Give respect where it is due he is an EPL striker whether he sits on the bench or plays it doesn’t matter.
well done janza
Just suggesting ….a 4-3-3 formation should do the trick with Mayuka ,Kangwa n Sate Sate in a 3 pronged attack.
looks like john has a thing for inactive players. first it was fwayo, now its mayuka
From what I’ve seen graziano pelle is one of the best strikers in the world it is not Mayuka’s fault that he is not playing often. I still feel he can do better than Shane long who to me has been given enough chances but has failed to hit the back of the net consistently. Koeman will give Mayuka his chance.
We beat Bafana in 2007 using the same formation of 3 strikers.
But john u were calling Mayuka useless not long ago when he went to France on loan with Renard but today the same player is the best
wish all the best to chipolopolo
go zambia go success is life
In my opinion Mozambique will come out guns blazing because they will be playing at home and will want to win. This will play to our advantage as player for player we have the quality to overcome them. So i see no need to go with a defence minded set up. My prefered for this game would be 4-4-2 formation on attack and defend with a 4-5-1 system which would spring deadly counter attack moves once their play is broken down. We do have the players to adapt this kind of play. Mayuka/Kangwa/Sate Sate, any two can fit the starting role.
mayuka en kangwa plus given s en bruce, kalaba, lungu these guys can do the job.
Anybody care to explain why Alex Ng’onga never makes the cut for 27 player call up? Is he really that far bellow our best 27?
I just think our squad has not had penetrative & daring players like Moses Phiri & Ng’onga since Felix Katongo & Chisamba Lungu graced our wings. That accounts for the goal dry spell in recent games
@ kwarcee…let’s start thinking of ways of beating teams like Burkina Faso,Mali n Zambia to quench our trophyless drought.
i love zambia
Now Janza is saying he will be banking on Kangwa for goals. But why did he leaVe him out in the first place?
Janza is a two tongue chameleon he didn’t see the importance of Kangwa in his first selection all of a sudden He’s banking on Kangwa for goals
where are my comments
