Kamanga confident Chipolopolo Boys will replicate good club form at the National team

FAZ President, Andrew Kamanga believes the Chipolopolo Boys will replicate their club form when the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers kick off next month.

The FAZ Supremo wrote in his weekly update, The President’s corner that the Association does not doubt that the players will be eager to replicate their competitive form at the club level.

Kamanga has called on the fans to rally behind the team and went on to confirm that the FA will do everything possible to good preparations.

“We are getting warmed up for the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Being in the same group with hosts Ivory Coast, Comoros, and Lesotho we expect that with good preparations we will be among the top two qualifiers from Group H. A lot has been said about Ivory Coast being automatically qualified, but our focus is just to win our games and be among the elite of the African game,” Kamanga said.

“We only urge everyone to support our team in their quest to earn qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations. Given the competitiveness of most our players in the foreign leagues they are playing in, we have no doubt that they will be eager to replicate the same form for their motherland when qualifiers commence. As FAZ, we will strive to give the team good preparations as we have always done.”

Chipolopolo Boys head coach Aljosa Asanovic is expected back in the country this week to start preparations for the Qualifiers.

The Copper Bullets were drawn in group H alongside hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Comoros and Lesotho for the qualifiers of the 34th edition of the international men’s football championship of Africa.

Aljosa Asanovic’s men will start their campaign with an away fixture against the 2015 Champions, Ivory Coast on May 30th.

Zambia will be desperate to make it to the continental showpiece after missing the last three consecutive tournaments.

Zambia last qualified for the tournament in 2015 under now Namungo FC boss Honor Janza.
