Tp Mazembe captain captain Rainford Kalaba scored to help his side to a 2-1 win over Don Bosco in the Congolese Linafoot.
The former Chipolopolo captain and Kabaso Chongo started for the African powerhouses while Nathan Sinkala came off the bench.
This year, Kalaba will be an integral member of the Lubumbashi side as the try to reclaim the CAF Champions League for the 6th time.
While Kalaba is one of the star men on the continent, the 2012 African Cup of Nations winner together with Kabaso and Sinkala have been overlooked by Chipolopolo Boys coach Wedson Nyirenda.
It’s been 12 months now that the trio last featured for Zambia.
In the absentia, a young Zambian side did a double over Algeria in the World Cup qualifier last year.
But since that result, Zambia has failed to beat Nigeria, Cameroon, Zimbabwe and South Africa .
On the contrast, the trio helped TP Mazembe to CAF Confederations Cup glory in 2017 as the Lubumbashi club returned the trophy.
Kalaba hasn’t from international football.

Nyirenda must be on his way HAOUTU!
Negros don’t resign that’s just in us and AK can’t fire wada because he has no compasation funds hence the saga continues.
it is too bad for nyerenda to overlook these star men, kalaba, nathan, mbola and kabaso chongo please mr coach we need them they very instrumental .
