Green Eagles enter race to sign Makeni All Stars striker

Green Eagles have made a bid for Makeni All Stars’ Kenan Phiri

Newly appointed Green Eagles coach Perry Mutapa is keen to bring the striker, to Choma and is prepared to offer ZMK200,000.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that two Lusaka based MTN Super League outfits are ready to also make an offer for the forward.

Newly promoted Konkola Blades were the first Super League team to show interest and opened talks with Makeni All Stars but an agreement could not be reached.

Phiri was named in Coach Wedson Nyirenda’s 35 member provisional squad for the 2025 COSAFA Cup.

The lanky forward is a typical number nine with the body structure, knack for goal and hold up play which makes him a hot commodity in this transfer window.

Phiri was on song for Makeni All Stars in the Lusaka Provincial League scoring 9 goals helping them win the league and qualify for the ABSA Cup and the ZPL National League play offs.

He also scored two goals in the ABSA Cup, sending Makeni All Stars to the round of 16 where they lost to MTN Super League side Kabwe Warriors.

In the ZPL National League play off Phiri netted another important two goals as Makeni All Stars topped their group to qualify for the second tier of Zambian football.
