South Africa based duo of winger Augustine Mulenga and striker Justin Shonga have become the first foreign-based players to arrive ahead of Thursday’s Cameroon 2022 Africa Cup of Nations Group H qualifier against Botswana at National Heroes Stadium.
Mulenga and Shonga who are on the books of South Africa Premier Soccer League outfits Amazulu and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC (TTM) arrived this morning at the Kenneth Kaunda international airport. The duo was welcomed by Chipolopolo boss Milutin Sredojevic.
Zambia welcomes Botswana on Thursday before traveling to Francistown four days later for the return leg in a crucial Group H doubleheader. Zambia who is bottom of group H will need to win both games to stay in the race for a place at the 2021 Cameroon AFCON tournament.
Chipolopolo Micho has summoned 26 players for the back-to-back assignment with 16 local players and 10 foreign-based players.
It’s good to hear the squad comprised of 16 local and 10 foreign players, we believe the team will come up with the positive results. We love you let’s show those karaka kwengo from Botswana ati twaliishiba ukuteya bbola
I like the way the two players used to play upfront under the guidance of micho at Orlando Pirates in South Africa.
Good move 4 coach micho
They will do us proud
