Jumulo already dreaming of Super League football

Newly Promoted FAZ/Eden University National Division One side, Jumulo FC have already set their sights on Super League promotion.

The Copperbelt Provincial Division One Champions, are eager to win promotion to the top tier of Zambian football barely a month after winning promotion to the second tier during last months Division One playoffs held in Lusaka.

The ZamFoot Crew caught up with club secretary Manguson Mvula to discuss the teams’ plans ahead of the new season.

Mvula that the team will head to Livingstone for preseason after they finish player recruits as they are currently doing trials for players recommended by their scouts.

“The program is going well, we hope to finish up very soon. We are currently having assessment trials for players recommended by our scouts. We hope to conclude by Friday this week,” he said.

“Pre-Season is there, tentatively it’s set for Livingston from the 15-28 of August 2021.”

“To Play Super Division next year. There are four slots available, we are inspired by Konkola Blades who have achieved that straight from Provincial Division One. We know we are new in the league but will try achieving that foot. In the end, we have to survive the drop and stay in National League,” he added.

Mvula told the ZamFoot Crew that his team is working very hard to recruit players who can fit in with their plans.

“We are working tirelessly recruiting the best players we can and players that fit the project. We have a good Experienced Coach in Linos Makwaza and we expect a lot from him this season,” he said.

“We know it will be very competitive but this level of competition is what we wish to play.”

“We know we are competing with big clubs and some are legendary clubs in Might Mufulira Wanderers, Nchanga Rangers, Lumwana Radiants, Napsa, and our neighbors Kitwe United. What we know is we will compete favorably,” he added.

Jumulo FC will be among the 18 teams alongside former Super League campaigners like NAPSA Stars, Lumwana Radiants, Kitwe United, KYSA, City of Lusaka, and Mufulira Wanderers who will be vying for the four slots available for Super League promotion once the FAZ/Eden University National Division One kicks off next month.
