Zesco United’s CAF Champions League opponents JKU SC of Zanzibar have arrived in the country ahead of Wednesday’s 2nd leg tie at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The team were welcomed by new Zesco United CEOÂ Mulenga at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport before they connected on a local flight to Ndola at around 17h30 on Sunday.
They were in bullish mood and will be aiming to cause one of the upsets of the preliminary stages.
“We respect Zesco United a lot but we showed that we are not scared of them,” one of the players told the ZamFoot Crew at the airport in Lusaka before departure for Ndola.
The two sides played to a goalless draw in Zanzibar in the first leg a week ago.
Elsewhere Egyptianside Al Masry arrived in the country over the weekend ahead of Tuesday’s tie against Green Buffaloes in a CAF Confederations Cup.
The Egyptian side go into the tie with a 4-0 aggregate.
Back to Champions League, Zanaco will leave for West Africa on Monday.
The bankers are heading to banjul were they will face Gambian Air Force FC.
Zanaco were the only Zambian side in CAF Competitions to be on target in the first leg.
A brace from Martin Phiri and a goal from Ziyo Tembo was enough to earn the bankers a 3-0 aggregate at Nkoloma Stadium
I said it,that Buffaloes will enjoy only one trip.A go come flight but somebody asked what the problem was with me.I humbly ask the same questionnaire to prove to me that Buffaloes will beat the Egyptians by five unanswered goals.
