The Zambia national team will today leave for Ethiopia today to play an international friendly against that country on Monday.
Honour Janza will carry am almost full strength squad to Ethiopia after a host of foreign based players joined camp this week ahead of the Gabon 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guniea Bissau next week.
He has kept faith in the team which played at the Cosafa tournament with Lubambo Musonda, Jacob Banda, Fackson Kapumbu, Kabaso Chongo, Given Singulama, Evans Kangwa, Emmanuel Mayuka and Kapota Kayawe as the new additions.
Romania based Fwayo Tembo who is already in the country has not reported to camp with Chipolopolo assistant coach Chintu Kampamba stating that he will join the team next week they return from Ethiopia.
However, ZamFoot blogger Eddy reported on Wednesday that Fwayo has shunned the national team call up.
Eddy Wrote –
Ba FAZ we met Fwayo Tembo today at Sunset Stadium watching Zanaco vs Red Arrow game and he said that he will never report to camp because he felt being used by coach in qualifiers then dropped when it matters most. He said he can only join camp once Zambia qualify for Africa cup or world cup and not during qualifying games!! THIS IS THE SAD NEWS FOR U ALL AT FAZ FROM FWAYO TEMBO!!!
The full Squad:
Goalkeepers: Danny Munyao, Jacob Banda
Defenders: Donashano Malama, Fackson Kapumbu, Kabaso Chongo, Emmanuel Mbola, Aaron Katebe, Christopher Munthali, Kayawe Kapota
Midfielders: Paul Katema, Kondwani Mtonga, Nathan Sinkala, Lubambo Musonda, Allan Mukuka, Mukuka Mulenga
Strikers: Patson Daka, Emmanuel Mayuka, Evans Kangwa, Given Singuluma

If that comment about fwayo is true, then the guy can just be weh,how does a player who is always inactive prior to all AFCON expect to be called???we have many good players and ba fwayo should just be serious.to much compound mentality in that head of his.
Nkani iyi
If that comment is true then it is very unfortunate. This mentality by Fwayo will not take him anywhere because no individual is bigger than the national team.Did he expect the coach to call him to camp when he was not active? This attitude borders on arrogance and foolish pride to say the least.
Fwayo tembo had already played qualifiers kkkkkkkk . There is no heroism in stupidity . Call kola to replace this sily boy . Kekekeke
if its true about fwayo just leave him forever let him not come near the national team until he die.that is the spirit wic has brot confusion with Charles musondas children its bcoz of there fathers spirit on national team after the death of our national team, he refused to come & build a team but kalu we call a corrupt sucrifiesd. we need u now but after u stop playing u will need a top job in football but with that behavior we cant allow. let him be.
Let Fwayo be. His stupidity will never end. The technical team should call Roger Kola instead. Why waste time on an undisciplined player like Fwayo? This guy has a history of misbehaviour. Let him be.
On the other hand, thanks that our calls have been answered. The players who should be called to national team have been called. Big up.
I will comment upon hearing from the horse’s mouth, this Eddy might not be a fan of Fwayo. Smile something.
Did fwayo say that? Very unfortunate.
i can’t see kalaba people what is happening,is he injured or what?
This squad is for the friendly against Ethiopia. A full Chipolopolo squad will be unleashed upon their return from Ethiopia, which will include Mweene, Sunzu, Chisamba and Kalaba. This is the way I see it.
Janza can have all the best players at his disposal but his tactics always lets him down. All he does is stand by the touchline and making wrong substitutions….one cant read his emotions on the face. I wonder why he cant just resign on his own.
Kalusha has also done his part and its time he gave other people a chance to revive football. How do we expect Zambia to produce results when we don’t have proper grassroot soccer? For this to happen you need someone with a vision for Zambian football.
It is time for the Ponga Liwewe’s, Andrew Kamanga’s or Simata Simata to take over.
Zambia’s poor performance should be attributed to the current FAZ Executive.
Why play Ethopia in a friendly when almost all your competitors are from central/west Africa? What are you going to learn from the Ethopia game that you didn’t learn from Malawi? All the players in camp have almost been used before by Janza and there is no ‘eye opener’.
Because of the current shambolic FAZ, we are in the same class as Lesotho,Malawi, comoros, swaziland….Please forget attacking Ghana because we are not in the same class.
We are not a power house in football forget it.
Jokes aside seriousness must now be exhibited in the way we are running our football.Otherwise the future seems dark. its high time we begin wining matches.
Winning some matches is important but does not solve the fundamental problem. As CHIPOLOPOLO bullet rightly observed, the solution rests in developing the grassroots. We need administrators who will be committed to that. Grassroots football development classic example is Germany. Let us all commit to that as a long term solution & not winning a few matches in the short run.
Janza will never learn because he is docile, this was a very good chance to assess kola and Mbesuma why drop mudenda Kennedy and you leave that primary school material Dona Malama sure.
Forget Fwayo and his compound mentality! The comforting thought is that, he is not a messi! Please people who support this komboni boy, hear what he is saying! I can rest assure you that if this boy takes his chawama behaviour to his club he will be chased soon rather than later!
Indeed agreed. He is not a messi but a mess.
fweyo tembo of yourself u think u are Ronaldo, u are useless, I would never pick u for any team, u think too high for yourself that’s why u don’t play in big leagues like English premier league. I think all Zambian players think too high of them selves, that’s why they are no where. look at Ghanaian players even u20 they perform well, because there standard is always high
Stupid as stupid does! This is the sense of entitlement we always talk about. This Fwayo Tembo should ask Moses Sichone on Shunning the squad like this. If Fwayo was patriotic to mother Zambia, then he would understand why he was left out. The coaches trying to help this John’s brother, but the id1ot was busy playing for the Chibuku warriors mu gravel road pitches. Atase, he wants to be begged? I would rather see Zambia lose games than begging an ungracious bastard that won’t give back to a country that exposed him. To hell with you Fwayo if you have that kind of attitude, we don’t need it close to the squad. Knowing you, you will screw up soon and end up where you belong, kuma tavern ku Chilenje. I usually don’t go hard on players like, but any idiot disrespecting the Zambian people by shunning to put on the national colors in any capacity deserves to be flushed out to the toilet, so screw you Fwayo, good riddance, you are not Messi or Hazard, we have done well without in the past.
I’m a bit disappointed with zamfoot for quoting a blogger purporting to have been with Fwayo. What’s the credibility of that blogger? And even if it were true the very least I expect from an established site like zamfoot is to verify with Fwayo Tembo himself instead of giving us rumours. I mean Fwwayo is in the country and you want to tell me you can’t reach him? Honestly? So if tomorrow I come up with a quote by Sunzu will you buy it? Fwayo has got his own issues, but zamfoot could’ve handled this better. Way better.
You are right
I may sound so backwards but if the statement attributed to Fwayo is true, I would somehow support the guy. He has been used in countless qualifiers but he has never been given a chance to play at any Afcon. He’s been used in the qualifiers even when he was clubless so to mention his clublessness whenever it’s Afcon is damaging to him…..
Let forget fwayo de chap is indisplin,Guys there is a rumour tht zambia and malawi wt 2 bid 4 de 2018 world cup.
Mwana waku komboni, this boy is soo big headed thank god he is even talented.
Sorry that i may sound like doubting Thomas in the Bible (i believe) it would be UNFAIR to take what has been posted about Fwayo’s comment to be the correct (true) position of the player at this stage even though the same was in the papers last week). Am sure time will tell! Quite often in the past, he has performed as well as if not even better than players who were attached to clubs -if he was good for qualifiers without a club, how could he not be found deserving of a call up for the Afcon finals?
