James Chamanga continues to score in China

James Chamanga scores third brace of the season

James Chamanga continues to lead the way for players playing abroad, this time hitting a brace for his team Liaoning Whowin when they drew 2 – 2 away against Tianjin Teda.

Chamanga scored his first in the 9th minute 4 minutes after Tianjin had taken the lead.

The former National Assembly striker shot well from just inside the area to beat the goal keeper with a clinical finish.

His second was another good piece of skill when he let the ball run across his body to create space to shoot and his execution was perfect as he beat the goalkeeper with a low drive in the 27th minute.

The Zambian international could have walked away with a hattrick but his saw his spot kick saved in the 51st minute.

Liaoning conceded late in the game to pick only a point from the game.

The 36 year old is now third on the top scorers chart with 12 goals after 21 rounds of games.

He is two goals behind leadind scorer Demba Ba who is out injured.

  1. I just hope Chamanga will be called back to the National team. The guy is on fire.He is competing with some renown football players from all over the world.I think he deserves another chance in the Chipolopolo jersey.

  2. @stephen… no sir we need to move on we can’t be stuck naba under 40. Let him enjoy his last days we don’t need him but we r proud of him coz he’s now an ambassador 4 Zambia.#WillLeaveItHere

  3. @ Mambwe , dnt say that we dnt need him. Speak fo urself. Ts u who doesn’t want chamanga back. If Roger milla delivered @ th world cup aged 38, what CN stop chamanga from adding his experience to th national team? Even kalusha Bwalya scored sm goals fo us wen he was 41 years old. The problem is that many people hate chamanga for no reason nowanda thy never want him mu national team. Its better to use a disciplined player who is 36 than using indescipline players who are said to b 26 wen thy even fail to make th starting lineup in Egypt.

    • I agree Josi, we should call players based on form and not reasons like “we need to move on” Every player who/that is delivering should be considered for the national team regardless. Selection should be based on performance and nothing else. If Chamanga is on the verge of being a golden boot winner in China then it is pretty obvious in his current form he is much better than most of the strikers we are busy relying on currently. We need to be objective and let petty little emotions just slide out of the door. The worldcup is the biggest footballing platform in the world, we cant afford to let our emotions take charge of our intellect.

      • I also agree on.Chamanga’s recall. Moreover, the chinese league has really picked up pace. over a dozen leading footballers and managers are currently in China involved in the beautiful game.

    • That’s correct Josi, we cannot just sit back and continue to be embarrassed by the young players who cannot deliver any results. let us go for any players who is currently performing well.

  4. We need players who are playing very well for their respective clubs regardless of their age why should we call young players like patson daka, conlyde luchanga, mkandire who are not playing well at they clubs just because they are young we want players who are in top form

  5. Chamanga is far much better than these unskilled boys like katema, boyd ,sautu, chepeshi ,adrian chama, daka, luchanga .Believe me these division one players will be no more lets wait for the new muzungu coach, will shall see mark my words ZAMFOOT and the bloggers .

Our local coaches cannot assemble quality players even though some are old they can still win us games.young ones a needed but not of that quality we have been seeing .The time we lost that game to guinea Bissau we had chamanga ,mayuka, mbola, munthali, ziyo tembo, kapumbu ,chaila ,chama, cletous ,all these players were doing well. Isaac chansa or chaila are better in midfield than katema come on lwandamina.Andrew kamanga for you even to allow this coach to continue speaks alot about your failure.

    • I totally agree with you Egwugwu. Lwandamini was not up to the task at all!!I think Zesco is a place where he should be a manager.

  6. Lets give credit where its due, Chamanga has been a consistant threat in China. He has settled well there. How can a player scoring goals while playing week in/out not be consisdered? Even Kalusha playerld in his 40s.

  7. It is encouraging to see most bloggers agreeing in unison on Chamanga to be given another chance to play for the national team.I do not think we currently have any better striker than James Chamanga. The guy is so disciplined and he is getting better every day.So far the so called young ones have failed us big time. It will be to our advantage to summon players to the national team based on their performance and NOT just age. We need experienced players as well to blend in with the inexperienced ones.Hope the new coach will invite players to the National team based on each player performance.

  8. Everyone has highlighted good points on Chamanga but wht puzzles me is tht wen its an U40 defender playing well u don’t call 4 his inclusion unless U40 striker. Sum1 mentioned of Joseph Musonda sumtym bac many of u includin myself disagreed but why chamanga? Unless thrz is an exception 4 strikers i dnt kno.#WillLeaveItHereQuick

    • I believe even Musonda deserve another chance as long as he is performing well. We have been so embarrassed by the young ones. Maybe let the young ones continue to grow in their respective clubs as we continue with our madalasa. After all the madalasa brought us Africa Cup, so really why not trust them for another chance? The good young ones should be included as well.

  9. Poor Team selection is what costed a place to be at AFCON of 2017…Players must be considered based on there current form…not on the age…Some of the so called old players are better than the young ones…Players like Chris Katongo,Isaac Chansa,James Chamanga,Joseph Musonda,Collins Mbesuma and Chisamba Lungu are very critical to the World Cup qualifiers…Players must never be retired before they themselves retire….

  10. Chamanga must be recalled back into the national team looking at the draws of the WC qualfiers,
we need players who ar doing good at their respective clubs mind you we are in the group of dead and must not go with players who can not even die a little for mother zambia.

  11. We need players who are performing at there respective clubs,,young or old…however,we should not do away with players based on there age.As much as we need fresh blood,,we also need experienced players….Team selection must be done objectively with the bigger picture in mind…Poor Team selection is what has killed us…that is why some of us are looking forward to having a foreign coach for Chipolopolo…Maybe things will change…You cannot do away with Chris Katongo,Isaac Chansa,Chisamba Lungu,Joseph Musonda,James Chamanga,Jacob Mulenga,Given Singuluma,Collins Mbesuma and Mbola just because you want to create room for new boys..

  12. Iam really glad that soccer fans are now on course. iam the one who has always been talking about recalling Joseph Musonda. On a serious note we have experienced players who can again bring back AFCON, below is the line-up
    1 kennedy mweene
    2 Davies Nkausu
    3 Joseph Musonda
    4 Kondwani Mtonga
    5 Stoppila sunzu
    6 Nathan Sinkala
    7 Chisamba Lungu
    8 Isaac Chansa
    9 Collins Mbesuma
    10 Christopher Katongo
    11 Rainford Kalaba

subs: Chamanga, Munyau, Jacob Banda, jacob Mulenga, Fwayo Tembo, kalengo, Buchizya Mfune, mbola
