Chipolopolo soccer fans gave Jacob Mulenga the nod to lead the Zambia national team frontline in the upcoming game against Kenya after he polled a resounding 53% of the votes according to a poll conducted by Zambianfootball.co.zm.
However, the fans will be disappointed that their wish will not be met after the lanky striker snubbed a call to the national team stating that he is not 100 percent in the right frame to play for the national team.
In a poll which featured Winstone Kalengo, Rogers Kola, Emmanuel Mayuka, Patson Daka and the China based hit-man (Mulenga), the fans overwhelmingly voted for Mulenga as he took 53% of the 364 votes cast.
Emmanuel Mayuka who has not been called for the game came second with 15% of the votes, closely edging ZSL top scorer Winstone Kalengo by 3 votes.
Greece based striker Kola was third with 13% of the votes while young Patson Daka took 3% of the votes.
At 31 Mulenga, has had his best 12 months on the pitch having played a total 39 games for both Adnar Demispor (Turkey) and Shijiazhuang Yongchang (China), scoring a total of 17 goals.

since Jacob is not playing pick Roger Kola
you people who are campaigning for roger kola what are you basing on because we do not hear anything like him scoring or even playing for 90 mins
U Are Right Rodger Kola Cannot Match With The Caliber Of Some Local Strikers Called To Camp.Jackson Mwanza Is Better Coz I Watch Him Every Week And Seen Him Improve. Those Who Are Callin For Kola Wen Did U See Him Play And Score?
You don’t know footballn don’t tell me that if you don’t hear anything about rodger kola then we are also not hearing anything, tell me how many goals did rodger kola score in israel league and compare to the goals evans kangwa of the same league has scored and tell me who has been called and why the one who scored more has not been called. I am telling you,you will not understand this today but tomorrow.
Yes,let’s not mislead ourselves on calling Roger kola.B
coz we don’t hear him scoring now.
I think who ever was counting the votes has been bribed by Winston Kalengo cooz the guy can’t do better than kola and Mayuka. Pliz these polls are fake and stop misleading us. Kalengo limpulanga just like his partner jackson Mwanza..
I voted for Jacob. This was another good chance of many he has had to come and impress. There will not be many more i dont think, maybe wrong… I dont blame him, but must point that no player should be thinking about minutes in a game or even his own frame of mind as this article suggests. We cant afford our players to have the wrong mentality.
Anyway this story does not need to take anymore attention/focus from the task at hand.
I voted for Jacob too boss. I’m equally disappointed he won’t feature but I think those tasked with the running of our football are to blame.
Jacob has done the right thing. Some fans talk too much, if a striker fails to score ati lipulanga. Let him concentrate on club football
Rodger Kola enjoyed success the past season. He’s played in Belgum, Isreal and now Greece (three leagues that can’t be compared with the super league in Zambia). He may not have clicked when he was called up for Zambia long time ago but what we’re saying is what’s wrong with trying him again even in a friendly match? Players get dropped and recalled depending in form. Why not him? This must be personal.
Thank God U Are Not Coming, some Of Our Professionals Are Useless.Faz Spend Alot Of Money On Air Ticket Only To Be Disappointed During Matches By These Highly Published Professionals.Let Them Stay, after All They Dmt Perform Well On National Duties.Stupid Mwa Bampulanga Ya Bola.
Mapulanga Ya China And Greece.Infact U Av Done Well Not To Come.At Least Faz Can Save Money Met For Air And Use It To Buy Logistics Durin Faz AGM.some of our professionals are useless and heartbreakin.stupid mwa mapulanga ya ku greece and china.with or without kola and jacob we are winning.kenya central defence is weak.
You sound like you’re under the influence of something illicit bro
I HOPE KOLA HAS IMPROVED CAUSED HE FAILED IN THE PAST HE HAD HIS CHANCE BUT I THINK HE SHOULD BE GIVEN ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY.
Once young star is doing wonders at Nkana, WALTER BWALYA is the man. Watch the space. He is by far one of my best bets to do it against Kenya.
what is happening in zambia its beyond amateurism.thats frivolous of triviality.
Was one of those that voted for Jacob. We Will Miss his professionalism.Howerever we still have quality in the likes of Kalaba,Chisimba, also gives chance to Mbesuma to show his class as a top striker.
Instead of hacking jacobs decision not to come for the kenya game…some pipo should ask themselves why he made that decision……he is 31…enjoyed a rich vein of form on the pitch….if he comes here he knows for some unknown reason he just might be on the bench….(the chisamba issue)….i dont think ghana can call up jordan ayew to warm the bench..(thats just an example)…professional players are regarded first and only second to exceptional local players….they are playing abroad for a reason…they have earned it due to there hard work..day in day out…at 31 he is in his twilight days….so he has to manage his career maturely…all the best kapembwa maice wandi…KALAMPA OUT!
Watching Mbesuma yesterday in Aces game against Sundowns I must say Mbesuma did not really give off his best performance but it is early days in the season. Kennedy made a stunning save so at least he gave confidence that his reflexes are still on point. Mbesuma’s Aces won the match 1 – 0 even though they finished the game a down after their goalkeeper was given a straight red.
@Big Steve thanks for that update. Any news about Mukuka Mulenga?
Not much from Mukuka. He does not play. Sundowns has many players in his position. The boy should move to another club.
