Jacob scores for his Chinese club

Jacob Mulenga scored a goal for his Chinese club Shijiazhuang Yongchang when they beat Demba Ba’s Shanghai Shenhua 2 – 0 at home.

His Bulgarian coach Petrov again partnered Mulenga with Iceland international Eidur Guðjohnsen in attack and Mulenga opened the scores in the 29th minute with an assist from midfielder M Rondon.

Shijiazhuang Yongchang were awarded a penalty in the 54th minute but the 31 year old Zambian international this time did not attempt to take the spot kick after his miss last week and allowed Guðjohnsen who converted.

Mulenga was sustituted in the 88th minute.

This was Mulenga’s 10th goal of the season and his goal took him into the top 10 on the top scorers chart in the league.

  1. Career in China? Is Mulenga in the mass production business? This is football & to revive your career in football, YOU MUST DI IN EUROPE.

  2. Who is better Kalengo and Sate Sate or Kangwa Evans! I would say Kalengo has an advantage over the other two players because of his built. It is very difficult to shake him off the ball. He is able to challenge very well where aerial balls are concerned. The other two strikers can be skilful but when faced with huge defenders like arabs they have always struggled and at times completely disappear from a game. My opinion!

  3. Kalengo is untested. Many Zambian strikers get exposed as soon as they play outside the very average if not below average ZPL. We cant compare him to seasoned profesionals like Jacob. With his recent performances for the national team he should be quickly taken up in a more advanced league only then can we start to make comparrisons
