Jacob Mulenga netted a 68th minute goal to help his Chinese club Shijiazhuang Yongchang to an away draw against James Chamanga’s Liaoning Whowin in the Chinese Super League.
Mulenga started the match and was substituted in the 69th minute immediately after scoring. He was replaced by former Chelsea, Barcelona and Iceland international Eidur Gudjohnsen.
Mulenga has started all the 17 matches played by his team this season scoring 4 goals.
Chamanga was not named in the squad. He has only played 6 matches scoring two goals.
Stopilla Sunzu remains sidelined due to injury.

Mulenga’s scoring rate is very poor . May be tha league is very competitive.
I think we can stil use him, becoz we hv no strikers in our team
I dnt think we nid Jacob mulenga,we nid to develop strikes who are flexible like Arguilo,Surez,Bezema and so on.J lacks Ball control and I think let’s forget the past.wen fail to score u recall old legs when will the young ones play.
Where are you going to get those players in Zambia who are flexible like Aguero, Suarez, and Benzema? Some comments, awee mwandini.
Im also bewildered by that comment…….kikikikikiki!!!!!!
The Chinese league is as useless as ours, even if not worse. Forget about him . Scoring 100 goals in 20 games will not make much of a difference.
I agree Mulenga Jacob’s scoring rate is very poor and questionable. Am afraid to say he won’t contribute positively to the national team..
we need jacob & rodger kola 4 crucial game against kenya, u cant compare jacob & patson daka, or patrick ngoma.
if kalaba, fwayo, chisamba, lubambo, jacob & rodger kola can play 90 minutes in kenya wil win in nairobi.
if kalaba, fwayo, chisamba, lubambo, jacob & rodger kola wil play 90 minutes in kenya wil win in nairobi.
Fantasy football right?
How can a normal person say Jacob Mulenga’s scoring rate is very poor, come on guys lets sober up. Jacob is one of the best strikers we have at the moment, he is very agile and level headed.
Ati Jacob Mulenga’s scoring rate is very poor…..kikikikiki some comments just make you laugh….hahahahahaha!!!!!!
Jacob has been a consistent goal scorer in every professional league he has played for from France to Holland to Turkey….you don’t get better than that. He is taking time finding his feet in China but guaranteed when he does he will be a consistent goal scorer just like he has always been.
Please apply your minds before posting certain comments…..no wonder Zambia is struggling to beat Namibia and Malawi its because the coach and fans alike think like this.
Its quite laughable indeed! This is the player who was scoring weekend in and weekend out in Turkey, was top scorer at his club in Holland ,scored a number of crucial goals for us when he came back from injury in our last world cup run and then someone just wakes up without facts trying to be an expert on issues he hardly understands! You are right Big Steve..quite laughable indeed! And this was after a length spell on the injury list.
I repeat Jacob is not a prolific strikes according to his football statistics.. You can not list him among the best strikers in Zambia .. Chamanga, katongo, mbesumba, mayuka they are by far better than him. If you watch him playing you end thinking he is playing out of position.. Jacob is just average he failed to play top flight football in France .. It tells you something.. Which season did Jacob scored more than twenty goals..
Which season did any striker you have mentioned apart from Mbesuma scored 20 goals???
He played top flight in Holland which is a league that can go pound for pound with ligue 1 and he was scoring goals there. Even in his short spell in Turkey he accounted for himself very well. Which modern day Zambian striker has achieved anything close to that in Europe, not even Mayuka. Compare oranges with oranges.
Him and Kola are the only srikers that have the capacity presently to score enough goals for us to qualify comfortably for Afcon though I do have my doubts on Kola but his form is worth noting.
In the country of the blind, the one eyed man is king. so is Jacob. Yes we don’t have strikers but that does not make the only one we have good. He is the best amongst the worst.
@ Mulenga I totally disagree with you. @ Big Steve is absolutely right there. Bloggers need to get their facts right before posting their comments. Of our current strikers no one comes close to Jacob’s track record. # Fact
Does that make him good? In a classroom of idiots, the top of the class is still not a good student. Pure & simple. In the absence of any prolific strikers, does that make the bad one we have good? No, but that is our only choice. Follow the argument.
Well said man. Absolutely well said.
Mayuka is the only real mobile striker we have and kola has the potential to be better than Jacob. Sate sate is also another potential gem. I suggest zambia builds it’s strike force around Mayuka, kola and sate sate. Mayuka needs a new club ASAP though
we need jacob & kola 4 a crucial match against kenya in nairobi we dont want patson daka & patrick ngoma, who failed 2 score against minows, guinea bissau, namibia malawi. they can even fail 2 score against zanzibar. we are tired of disapointment this time we need a win.
well said…. for now these are the only two strikers with the capacity to take us to Afcon when it comes to goals.
We have good strikers in Mayuka,Mbesuma,Kola and Jacob.that is if we have an independent coach who can able to select his team without interference from Faz
I think big steve is right correct
Sunzu is always sidelined with injuries. Yaba! I wish HR could get Sunzu back to France.
That’s if Lille are wiling to pay him well.
but guys you should just admit that jacob is struggling in china. we need him in national team to guide to young ones but we do have better strikers mayuka, kangwa, sate sate and inform kola. modern football dose not necessarily need to play more than one striker. we should score goals with midfielders.therefore we need to come up with a functional midfield not that ridged one.we need to have players in the mould of king kalu and charlie musonda who can get goals.our team is very weak in midfield.

Zambians! Zambians! Zambians! I’m sure that now you’ve seen just how competitive the Chinese league is.It may not be as tough as the some of the European leagues but is obviously better than the turkish Div1 where Jacob was scoring for fun.Take time to watch the league before you come out here underrating it!
Jacob is not struggling in China, look at his stats. Assists goals and games played. He is caring just well. The problem we have in Zambia is that at times people don’t watch these games thus their analysis at times is skewed
How do you rate the Chinese league? Better than ours? No. They only have the resources to spill out.
Winstone Kalengo is the best striker we have at the moment and our only hope of beating Kenya.
@mulenga chinese ligue better than our local ligue, zambian ligue is the weak ligue in africa, they always struggled 2 beat minows, like mbabane swallows of swaziland & KCCA of uganda, & being booted out by kaloum stars of guinea,& fc mounana of gabon, they cant even reach de group stage of the caf champions ligue & caf confederation cup.
These are Jacobs scoring statistics:
