Kabwe Warriors head coach Numba Mumamba is expecting a tough encounter when his side welcomes Green Buffaloes at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium tomorrow.
Numba believes the match will be a 50/50 affair as the Zambia army sponsored outfit are a youthful side.
Kabwe Warriors will be without former Zambia U-23 National Team midfielder Field Kandela who sustained an injury in training.
“Our preparations have been going well since we came back from Ndola, everyone is set and looking forward to the game. We only have one setback, Field (Kandela) which rules him out of this game. I only hope he will be back quickly,” he said.
“Our opponents are playing very well. We expect a tough game since we are playing a youthful team, it will be a 50/50 affair. We just have to be at our best to get the result that we want.”
“I think we are joint top with Red Arrows, this really tells us that our team has performed well in the last three games we have played. We just have to be consistent so that we maintain at the top. From what we have in training everyone looks good and set for the game tomorrow. We only hope we will be at our best tomorrow so that we get the result we want,” he added.
There is already talk of the magnificent People’s team being a title contender but Numba is not getting carried away as he sticks to ABSA Cup qualification for now.
“I think our objective in the first round is to finish in the top five so that we qualify for the ABSA Cup. We will set another objective when we reach the second round,” he said.
Kabwe Warriors are unbeaten in the last eight games while Masauso Tembo’s side have two wins in their last seven games.
This fixture promises to be an interesting one and has produced at least a goal in the last 15 meetings.
