Green Eagles football club hosted Young Green Eagles at independence stadium in Choma on Sunday in a week 13 MTN/FAZ Super League encounter, Young Green Eagles took the lead through an own goal scored by Bornface Sunzu but Eagles restored parity through Shadreck Mulungwe to make sure the two teams shared the spoils.
Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi after the match told the ZamFoot Crew that the Kafue-based outfit took the game to them. He felt his team did not have enough fight in them and Young Eagles to take the game to them.
“It was a tough game they brought the game to us and they were fighting a lot, I think we did not fight enough especially in the second half. We did not take the game to them and we allowed them to win the second balls. I think in the second half at least we were able to win most of the second balls but the only thing we could not easily open them up, so meaning that we have to go back and try to work with our strikers and they will make that they work had to create space,” he said.
“One thing you need to understand is that all those things can be there, what it is, is that the knowledge that we input into the players can be used? that’s the question, what’s important is the application of the players in the game, like I have said what we did not do Is that we did not create many chances even just shooting at the goal we did not do that, if only we had done that, so that Is what we are going to work on when we go back,” he added.
Chiyangi was also quick to urge his goalkeeper Kenneth Mwaanga to continue working hard after he was named man of the match. Chiyangi also hinted at a desire to sign a striker.
“We missed the four players who remained in Cameron who have arrived today and in the next, the game is sure we are going to see them,” he said.
“What is important is to see every player playing well, performing well and he has done well today, we will just keep encouraging him so that he keeps playing well the same way he has done today.”
”Our desire is to sign a Top class striker but again my question is give me a name of a top Zambian striker we can go for? he added.
