Green Buffaloes Women Football Club midfielder Ireen Lungu has been included in the Best XI of the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League group-stage.
The female Computer is the only player from the COSAFA Champions squad to make it to the group stage best eleven.
Lungu had quite an impressive showing despite the team not making it past the first round winning only one game and losing the other two.
Lungu is joined in the team by Simba Queens’ Opa Clement Tukumbuke, Bayesa Queens Mary Ann Ezenagu, AS FAR’s duo of Siham Boukhami and Fatima Tagnaout.
Others include Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies’ trio Lelona Daweti, Bambanane Mbane, and Zanele Nhlapho.
Nouhaila Benzina, Khadija Er Rmichi, and Ghezlane Chhiri complete the squad.
Lungu scored a goal in the 2-1 loss to AS FAR and was involved in all four of the goals scored in the win over Determine Girls of Liberia.
Lungu will now immediately switch attention to National duty as she is part of coach Bruce Mwape’s squad for the two international friendly matches against Colombia in Cali.
