South African based defender cum midfielder Rodrick Kabwe says he was impressed with the way Zambia played against Mali.
A depleted Zambia lost 1-0 to Mali in Bamako in a friendly on Friday.
The two sides will cash on Monday in the another friendy.
Kabwe, who features for Sekhukhune United was named skipper on the night in the absence of Enock Mwepu and Lubambo Musonda.
“We lacked concentration in the first 10 minutes and conceded a goal. After that we matched Mali,” said the 29 year old in a post match interview.
“We created our chances and couldn’t just put the ball into the back of the net. And in football, if you don’t score you will end up on the losing side.
“For us, it was a good game and proud of the guys with the way we played. We showed maturity despite most of the guys being young.
“We gave them a good game and I feel we played according to the coach’s instruction but unfortunately we couldn’t just score.
Stand in Chipolopolo coach Moses Sichone named an attacking side.
Zambia is using these friendly matches to prepare for the Ivory Coast 2023 African Cup of Nations.
The Chipolopolo Boys are second on the log with 3 points while Ivory Coast lead the group with 4 points.
Comoros and Lesotho are on 3 and 1 point respectively.
Ivory Coast is beatable just that with our poor form Eh kaya mwe.. We have players who cannot put up a winning performance despite the talents.
We need a serious miracle with the Chipolopolo.
Please watch how Morocco played against Chile. They totally dominated Chile. The best performance I have see from an African representative to the World cup so far. They pressed, they attacked, they won each 50-50 ball. I believe so far Morocco and Senegal will go far and deep in the World cup. Let’s see how Tunisia does with Brazil. The Cameroon team is looking very shaky. They can’t rely on Abubakar to score. He has a bad first touch and has about at most a 25% chance of scoring when presented with an opportunity.
