High flying Nkwazi stun 10 man Forest Rangers

High flying Nkwazi beat Forest Rangers 1-0 in a tight contested week two super league match played on Saturday afternoon at Edwin Imboela stadium. This gave the police outfit their first points of the season.

The first half did not see much goal mouth action but Rangers came close to scoring when striker Austin Muwowo who is fresh from scoring a brace in week one pounced on the ball floated into the area from a free kick but he directed his effort straight into the goalkeepers’ hands.

Nkwazi returned from the break stronger and looked  a different side as they kept pressuring the visitors defense. The pressure paid off when Emmanuel Chabula guided his header into the bottom right corner of the net for the opener.

Rangers were reduced to 10 men when U20 midfielder Benson Kolala was shown a direct red card for rushing into Emmanuel Chabula with a reckless bone cracking tackle near the center circle. With the trailing in both goals and men on the pitch, it was difficult for the Ndola based side to come back into the game.

Nkwazi held on to record their first win of the season.

Towards the end, the match got heated with tempers rising high on the Rangers technical bench. The ball boys and the balls vanished like the magic spray this forced Rangers players to pick balls for themselves.
