COPPER Queens goalkeeper Hazel Nali has donated a set of boots to each player at her parent club Nchanga Queens who plays in the Copperbelt Provincial FAZ Women’s League as a way of appreciating her parent club for nurturing and grooming her football career.
Nali played for Nchanga Queens for 5 years before joining Indeni Roses in 2014 and thereafter came to Lusaka and was on the books of the Zambia Army side Green Buffaloes from 2017 until 2020.
Nali got her first professional contract with Hapoel Beer’sheva in Israel in 2021 before joining Turkish Women’s Super League outfit Fatih Vatan Spor earlier this year and she’s among the International players for the Copper Queens.
Meanwhile, His Worship The Mayor of Chingola Mr. Jonshon Kang’ombe has promised to honor Nchanga Queens Coach Charity Nthala alongside Copper Queens boss Bruce Mwape former Coach for Nchanga Rangers, and Hazel Nali who are all products of Chingola by offering them a piece of land each in their home town.
Furthermore, Mr. Kang’ombe has arranged a road show set for today 1st August 2022, and a series of activities to follow in the mining town to give a thunderous welcome to the Copper Queens trio for their contribution to the sports and representing Chingola well in their duties.
The roadshow will start from the District Commissioners Office at 09:00hours to various Townships in the District and the residents will have a glimpse of seeing and welcoming their heroes.
The Copper Queens had an impressive outing in Morocco during the Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON)where they came out third minting Gold Medals after edging Nigeria 1-nil in the third and fourth-placed playoff match and the process earning themselves qualification to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup to be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
