Hazel Nali back on the grassĀ

Copper Queens goalkeeper Hazel Nali has started training a year and five months after suffering an injury.

Nali was ruled out of the 2023 Women’s World Cup days before the tournament kicked off.

The 2022 WAFCON heroine suffered a knee injury prior to the Copper Queens historical 3-2 international friendly win over Germany.

She has since started full team training with her parent club Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club.

Buffaloes took to social media to announce Naliā€™s return to full team training with the caption ā€˜Guess who’s backā€™.

Nali suffered laxity in the Medial Collateral Ligament and a complete tear of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).

The Zambian international then underwent Surgery in Christchurch, New Zealand on August 16th, 2023 after which she embarked on a phase of post-surgery rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

She is now back in full team training with Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club a club she played for before her departure for Europe.

Nali is on the books of Greek side OFI Crete, a club she signed for in July last year but she has yet to join.

Nali played for Fatih Vatan Spor in Turkey prior to her injury.
