Copper Queens goalkeeper Hazel Nali has started training a year and five months after suffering an injury.
Nali was ruled out of the 2023 Women’s World Cup days before the tournament kicked off.
The 2022 WAFCON heroine suffered a knee injury prior to the Copper Queens historical 3-2 international friendly win over Germany.
She has since started full team training with her parent club Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club.
Buffaloes took to social media to announce Naliās return to full team training with the caption āGuess who’s backā.
Nali suffered laxity in the Medial Collateral Ligament and a complete tear of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
The Zambian international then underwent Surgery in Christchurch, New Zealand on August 16th, 2023 after which she embarked on a phase of post-surgery rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
She is now back in full team training with Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club a club she played for before her departure for Europe.
Nali is on the books of Greek side OFI Crete, a club she signed for in July last year but she has yet to join.
Nali played for Fatih Vatan Spor in Turkey prior to her injury.
