FIFA referee Diana Chikotesha will be among 25 assistant referees for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship 2024 (to be played in 2025), which will be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from February 1st – 28th, 2025.
Chikotesha is the only Zambian referee who made the cut according to a list announced by the Confederation of African Football.
The Zambian assistant referee was recently named as the 2024 CAF Womenās Assistant Referee of the Year.
10 months ago, Chikotesha made history when she became the first female match official to feature in a menās Africa Cup of Nations final.
Chikotesha is regarded as one of the top FIFA match officials on the continent.
She has officiated at the African Nations Championship finals, The Menās Africa Cup of Nations and, of course, the Womenās Africa Cup of Nations.
She also officiated at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Womenās World Cup and the 2023 FIFA Womenās World Cup.
