Morocco coach Walid Regragui says there is a strong possibility that Achraf Hakimi will feature against Zambia in their final Group A match.
“We have a good chance of seeing Hakimi play against Zambia,” said Regragui, who praised Paris Saint-Germain for releasing the defender early to recover from injury.
“PSG have been fantastic to allow us to have Hakimi for 15 days so he could recover and be available. Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is a gentleman,” he added.
Hakimi sustained the injury while on duty with PSG and has missed Morocco’s opening two matches against Mali and Comoros.
Zambia and Morocco will meet on Monday in the last Group A fixture of the Africa Cup of Nations. Morocco top the group with four points, Mali and Zambia are level on two points each, while Comoros have one.
The Chipolopolo are chasing their first AFCON victory since lifting the trophy in 2012.
