The Zambia Under-23 National Team has arrived in Cairo ahead of the Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that commences on Friday.
Beston Chambeshi’s team arrived at Cairo International Airport at 17:05 hours local time aboard Emirates Airlines and were received by officials from the Egypt Football Association and Zambian embassy staff.
Zambian High Commissioner to Egypt Major General Toply Lubaya welcomed the players at the Novotel Hotel where they will be holed up for the duration of the tournament.
Zambia is in Group B alongside South Africa, Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
The top three teams at the Africa Cup of Nations will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The Zambian delegation is headed by FAZ Executive Committee member Lombe Mbalashi.
