Green Buffaloes send Chinama on administrative leave

Green Buffaloes’ patience has been stretched to its limit with the club moving to send coach Justin Chinama on forced leave following a run of bad results.

Not so long ago, Chinama praised his bosses as the best employers in the country having stood by him even when results were bad.

However, it appears the club has seen enough of the yoyo performances the team has been displaying thus they have decided to put their trainer on ice.

Club sources revealed on Saturday that a decision to have Chinama sent on leave was made on Friday after an emergency executive committee meeting.

In Chinama’s absence, Australia Mweemba will act as head coach and will be deputised by former defender Buchizya Mfune.

Buffaloes started their season on a high, going unbeaten in the first 12 games but things went downhill when they lost their first game against Green Eagles.

What followed was a 10 match winless run where the club recorded six losses and four games.

This year, the team has only managed two wins and have eventually lost a place in the top four.

Key to Buffaloes struggles has been the void left by striker Friday Samu who left the club in the January window after an impressive start to the season.

The former log leaders are fifth with 40 points, 16 behind leaders Red Arrows.
