Zambian players abroad have continued to impress with Emmanuel Banda stealing the show with his out-of-this-world stunner for Djurgadens IF in their 3-2 win.
Edward Chilufya also netted a beautiful curled goal and Lameck Banda chipped in with a goal and an assist as Maccabi Petah Tikva walked away with a huge 4-0 win.
In DR Congo, Tandi Mwape put in a full shift while Rainford Kalaba came from the bench to play the last 45 minutes as Amazulu dumped TP Mazembe out of the CAF Champions League and effectively drop them to the CAF Confederation Cup.
Augustine Mulenga and Kabaso Chongo were unused substitutes.
In England, Chipolopolo captain Enock Mwepu came from the bench to put in a good shift despite his Brighton and Hove Albion suffering a 4-1 defeat at the hands of defending champions, Manchester City thanks to a Phil Foden brace and a goal each from Ikay Gundogan and Riyadh Mahrez.
Mwepu was brought down by Ederson as he tried to go round the keeper and referee Kevin Friend pointed to the spot. Mac Allister’s effort had too much power as it flew inside the right-hand upright, although Ederson did get a hand to the ball.
In Israel, Lameck Banda scored a brilliant goal and set up a goal as Maccabi Petah Tikva made easy work of newcomers Hapoel Nof HaGalil 4-0 in an Israeli League encounter.
In Russia, the Zambian duo of midfielder Klings Kangwa and striker Evans Kangwa were unfortunately on the end of a big defeat as FK Rostov thrashed Arsenal Tula 4-0 in week 12 of the Russian Premier League away in Rostov-na-Donu.
Klings put in a full shift while Evans came from the bench to play the last 34 minutes.
In Denmark, Chipolopolo captain, Lubambo Musonda put-in an 82 mins shift as his side, AC Horsens were edged 0-1 by visiting log leaders, Lyngby in a Danish Superliga encounter. AC Horsens remain rooted 5th on the league table.
In Sweden, Edward Chilufya scored a beautiful curled goal to open Djurgadens IF lead[he was 6 goals and 3 assists so far this season] while Emmanuel Banda scored a stunner, reminiscent of his 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations goal against Mali as the duo helped their side to a 3-2 win over Kalmar FF to maintain their lead at the summit of the Swedish Allsvenskan.
Patson Daka and his Leicester City, Fashion Sakala and his Glasgow Rangers, Gamphani Lungu and his Supersport United, Lazarus Kambole and his Kaizer Chiefs as well as Rally Bwalya and his Simba teammates are all expected to be in action today.
Another man neglected by kamanga administration for chipante chipante boys performing fantastically lameck banda…
It seems players are only picked only for the sake of picking not on merit thats y we fail we don’t have a competant coach n a competant administration…
Talk about toaster, chibwe and mweene the south based goalies.
@Ukwini John
Mweene has volunteered to warm the bench at Sundowns. Currently he’s number one fun of sundowns and not a player .
We currently have quality zambian born defenders in frankie musonda n a mabika y is faz reluctant in calling them…we have plenty of players its jst an idiotic administration with fools running the show thr is no options on the bench we got shit chipante chipante boys picked who r not upto task we need competition in national team for us to go far every player should fight for his place not selecting chipante chipante players bcoz u knw u aint going to play the foreign based in the starting 11 n they mayb benchd whole game..our national team has some players who don’t even feature in local clubs bt as subs n they r prefered for these professionals who get regular game time.i just don’t understand i hope bally will fix this mess in faz
Frankie Musonda has been injured since January. I also don’t know whether he has switched his international allegiance to Zambia since he is a Britton.
Boy, use good English and sentences so that readers can appreciate your input. Besides, tone down your language. You may have a valid point but if you use unpalatable language, people may become hostile to you and your input will go to waste.
Does kamanga select the players to play for the chipolopolo boys? Isn’t this a tribal comment?
Kamanga does select nation team but Chambeshi is the one does select based on poor/useles football idiology
What tribalism u talking about mr.zambian..its plain facts We hav changed several coaches bt u will c majority of the local playing b4 r still playing nw what does that say
Well done sons of the soil. Hoist our Zambian Flag high, boys! In fact this commendation goes to our girls. SHINE ON, CHILDREN OF MOTHER ZAMBIA!
