The rivalry between Zambia and Senegal is taking centre stage as the two countries clash twice within a space of 72 hours.
The Copper Queens have a date against Senegal in Morocco at the Women’s African Cup of Nations on Wednesday in the quarter finals.
If that is not enough, Senegal, featuring as a guest team at the Cosafa Cup saw off Eswatini in the quarter finals to advance to semi finals.
The African Champions dispatched off Eswatini via a 10-9 penalty win on Wednesday afternoon to set up mouthwatering tie against the five times Cosafa Cup Champions.
The rivalry between countries dates back to the 90’s with Zambia having an upper hand.

The new team beat Senegal 4-0 in Dakar in 1993 in the FIFA 1994 World Cup qualifier.
Senegal beat Zambia with a late Souleymane Camara goal at the 2002 African Cup of Nations.
In 2012, goals from Emmanuel Mayuka and Rainford Kalaba stunned a star studded Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse led Teranga Lions with a 2-1 victory.
For now attention shifts to Casablanca for the 7pm before Friday’s semi final in South Africa.
