Friday Samu opens goal scoring account for Maritzburg United

Zambian striker Friday Samu has opened his goal scoring account for Maritzburg United in a Premier Soccer League, PSL match on Tuesday.

The former Green Buffaloes hitman gave Maritzburg United the lead in the 40th minute against Gamphani Lungu’s Supersport United.

Gamphani came close to scoring but his header was saved by the goalkeeper.

In the second half Jesse Donn equalised for Supersport but three minutes later Maritzburg regained the lead off a close-range finish from Human with Samu providing an assist.

Samu spent 9 years at Buffaloes was named man of the match.

He is still the leading scorer in the Zambian Super League with 14 goals while Kafue Celtic’s Albert Kangwanda is second on 10 goals.

Shonga, Rodrick still waiting for clearance

Elsewhere in the PSL, Toaster Nsabata failed to keep a clean as Royal AM secured a 1-0 win over Sekhukhune United in DStv Premiership clash of the year on Tuesday night.

Sekhukhune’s other Zambian duo Rodrick Kabwe and Justin Shonga didn’t feature as they are still waiting for clearance.
