Chipolopolo defensive kingpin Frankie Chisenga Musonda returned to haunt his former club Raith Rovers FC.
The Zambian international scored the only goal of the game in AYR’s 1-0 win over Raith Rovers to keep his side within five points of log leaders Dundee FC.
Musonda rose highest to head home the winner in the 55th minute to keep AYR’s promotion chances alive.
The win takes AYR to 55 points with only one round of matches left to play.
The goal is Musonda’s second of the season and could prove to be very vital for AYR.
AYR’s final SPFL Cinch Premiership game is away to Inverness at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
