High Flying Nkwazi head coach Dennis Makinka says his team’s goalless draw with the Bankers is a great result.
Makinka told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview that his plans for the game were affected by COVID-19 results. Makinka was happy that his team managed to pick up a point especially that it was their first competitive game in four months.
“For me, it’s a great result. First of all, I want to congratulate the boys it was not easy. We made the team on Wednesday but when the COVID -19 results came, we had to drop some players and at least Zanaco had a feel of the game on Wednesday but for us, since the league was stopped today (Sunday) was our first competitive game so I think we did very well, ” he said.
“Today Zanaco looked different from the way they played against Nkana.”
” Well he is my elder brother, he has seen grow-up, he coached me at some point, Getting a draw is not bad,” he added.
Makinka believes his side needs only four or five wins to secure the stay in the top flight as they are currently in a relegation battle.
“As we go forward we need to start picking points because the points at the bottom are very close and it’s tough. We need to pick up about four or five wins and we will be home and dry,” he said.
Nkwazi is currently 14th on the log with 28 points and next for the Zambia Police sponsored outfit is trip to Mufulira to face Wanderers.
