Focus shifts to Zambezi derby as Mwepu and Daka are set to join the camp

The Zambia national team is back home following their 5-0 humiliation at the hands of African Champions, Algeria in their opening match of the Cameroon 2021 AFCON qualifier.

The team has put the 5-0 loss behind them and have since shifted their focus to Tuesday’s clash against neighbors Zimbabwe.

Head coach Aggrey Chiyangi has since drafted in the U23 national team duo of striker Patson Daka and midfielder Enock Mwepu.

“Chipolopolo stand-in coach Aggrey Chiyangi has drafted the Austria based duo of Enock ‘Computer’ Mwepu and Patson Daka in Tuesday’s Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Zimbabwe.”

The duo was part of the Under-23 Egypt Africa Cup of Nations campaign that ended with a first-round exit on Friday and are expected in Lusaka on Sunday.

Zambia will meet Zimbabwe on Tuesday at National Heroes Stadium in an 18:00 hours kick-off.

  1. Please the team that played Algeria should be team B not A the defense is very very much weak and poor . Simon silwimba , Zyo, kennedy mweene , or chose players who have heart to play for the Nation . Also kalaba, Lubambo and mbola these guys are strong . Patson , mwepu, kalunga,.

  2. It seems each new Zambia coach especially the indigenous coach…meaning non foreign have the mindset that they have to come up with their own players. They disrespect players who have done duty for years in an attempt tto make a name for themselves.
KATONGO SAID IT…WE NEED PROPER TRANSITION.
