Lubambo, Fashion to join squad in Malabo ahead of Thursday’s qualifier

Three foreign based players are expected to fly straight to Malabo on Wednesday ahead of tomorrow’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea at Estadio de Malabo.

The quintuple Mwenya Chibwe (Baroka FC-RSA), Lubambo Musonda (Horsens-Denmark), and Fashion Sakala (Glasgow Rangers-Scotland) will complete the number of foreign based players called for the match day 3 qualifier.

England based striker Patson Daka linked up with his colleagues last night in Cameroon were the team had set up a week long training camp which started with fourteen local players led by defensive duo Dominic Chanda and Solomon Sakala.

While Zambia will be without skipper Enock Mwepu, attacking duo Rally Bwalya and Clatus Chota Chama are expected to offer experience and guile in the team.

Russian based winger Evans Kangwa is expected to miss out due to a slight harmstring injury. The AFCON winner should be available for Sunday’s clash at Heroes Stadium on match day 4.

Zambia are level on 3 points with Equatorial Guinea while Tunisia are top on 6 points. Mauritania are bottom of Group B standings.

  1. I understand Edward Chilufya and Emmanuel Banda dont want to play for Zed. Chilufya has been played in the wrong position while Emmanuel Banda has been ignored
